Anker 100W 9-in-1 USB-C Power Strip

I am not a tech person so I cannot speak to this from the point of view. But, as a consumer of necessary electronics, I can say that having this well-designed and substantial charging station is already helping me to handle the proliferation of increasing numbers of items that need regular charging.

I am a minimalist. I like my home to have what it needs and not much more. I also have a new MacBook Pro, a flip cell phone, and a fair number of chargeable lanterns and flashlights, the latter due to a genuine fear of electrical blackouts at night. It’s an annoyance to have to constantly rotate them for charging using multiple plugs and cords, and I wanted to find the easiest way to do that. This Anker charging station, which has multiple USB outlets for various sizes, works well. I also know that the tech guy I use from my employer’s IT staff (at a university) recommended this brand from the get go. What seems to be working for me is that I can gather several devices in one area of my home I have designated for precisely this reason. I may need to add another but it is certainly a lot better than having one in each room, which I view as ugly and would prefer to be unnecessary. This helps.

This charging station has 6 USB outlets (2 USB-A, two USB-C and four USB-C outlets) on the front, and 3 Standard electrical outlets on the sides and back. This is a very convenient arrangement, providing numerous options for charging phones and other devices while leaving outlets free for lamps, clocks, pencil sharpeners and the like. One of the things I like best about it is that its cubic design and rubber feet make the device quite stable, so it doesn’t slide or fall over when cables are attached to it going every which way. I also like the thoughtfully designed electrical plug, which is flat so that it fits behind furniture, and angled so that it avoids other plugs that might be using the same outlet. Overall, a well-designed multi-charger.

If I had one suggestion for Anker, it would be to either use some color (the device is almost completely black) or some led lights to make the outlets more visible in a poorly lit room. It is sometimes hard for me to see where the outlets are without turning on a light, which is not something one necessarily wants to do in a darkened room when one’s spouse is sleeping.

Gosh, I love this. At first, admittedly, I was on the fence about this charging station. I had originally ordered it to put on my desk but it is a littler larger (about the size of my hand – I have baby hands though so probably not the best comparison) so I decided not to put it only my desk (I have a smaller desk that can move into a standing desk position so there’s some things that just don’t work from a logistics perdepctive). Instead, I opted to put it on the windowsill by my couch. I have a couch in my office and previously I had it slightly pulled away from the windowsill because I had been using a surge protector that sits on the floor and I had ot figure out how to get to it (it’s a smaller room so the couch takes up a large bit of the wall – it’s a pretty awkward look tbh). But using this charging station, I can now push the couch flush with the wall, saving me a bit of space which s nice. I also love the usb ports – it makes charging different devices so much easier. Ugh I just love this thing; definitely one of my favorite power strips that I own and I own several.
