It might surprise you to learn that much of our modern world is dependent on Gallium Nitride. A valuable semiconductor with a wide bandgap, learning how to make it into a diode was essential to making blue LED’s – and it wasn’t until 1993 that Shuji Nakamura succeeded in finally creating the blue LED.

What good is a blue LED other than signifying a piece of mid-2000’s tech? Well, without blue LED’s, we’d have no white LED’s – we’d have no LED lightbulbs. White LED’s are just blue LED’s that excite a phosphor.

In fact, gallium nitride allows the creation of ANY color LED as doping GaN with Indium in varying ratios can create LED’s with any color from Red to Ultraviolet.

But – I digress – what does this have to do with a power brick? It turns out the same properties that allow a GaN semiconductor to emit blue light when formed into a diode allow incredible efficiency when formed into a transistor.

A transistor is basically just like a valve for electricty, but with no moving parts. All transistors have some level of ‘Power Dissipation’ – basically heat generated from the “friction” of the electricity passing through.

For high-power applications, the Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transitor, or MOSFET works more like a switch than a valve, with very low power dissipation – they’re very efficient, and much of the modern electronics we take for granted rely on MOSFETs.

But the large bandgap of Gallium Nitride allows those FET’s to be even *more* efficient. Power dissipation is incredibly low.

And now, that I’ve driven you 20 miles away from the subject, pushed you out of the car and asked you to walk back, I shall get to the point: The very special power transistors in this power supply let it be remarkably small, yet pack 67watts of throughput. Yes, the eGaNFET is even more efficient than the noble MOSFET. I know, I’m as surprised as you. Yet, here we are.

I love this brick. It’s absolutely wonderful to travel with, handling all my charging needs with ease whether i’m charging my power bank, laptop, tablet, phone or watch– I can easily charge 3 at once and quickly too.

And as an added bonus, it’s a fun reminder of the tiny semiconductors that make all these things even possible, and the fact that active science in the field continues.

This is cutting edge technology in an everyday object. It’s the scientific frontier, but it’s not a gimmick, or a novelty — it’s just a humble power brick – but it’s way smaller than one could imagine for the power output.

    TLDR: Tiny powerful charger good.

Size and shape are very similar to my 2-year old 30w Anker dual USB-C charger. Easy to pack and carry, plenty of power to keep my laptop and phone going on the road. Build quality feels excellent. Fits snugly into even the sloppiest of 120v receptacles I’ve found while travelling.

Alright, let’s talk about the Anker 67W USB Charger. I’ve been using this little beast for a while now, and here’s the scoop:

    **Pros:**

    – **Speed:** This charger isn’t messing around. It can juice up my devices faster than I can say “I need more coffee.” Perfect for those mornings when you’re running late or when you’ve let your phone die overnight.

    – **Versatility:** It’s got multiple ports, which means I can charge my phone, tablet, and even my laptop with one device. No more charger clutter on my desk or in my bag.

    – **Portability:** It’s small enough to slip into a pocket or a travel bag. I’ve taken it on trips, and it’s been a lifesaver in airports or hotels with dodgy outlets.

    – **Build Quality:** Anker didn’t skimp on the build. It feels sturdy, and I’ve dropped it more times than I care to admit without any issues.

    **Cons:**

    – **Price:** It’s not the cheapest charger out there, but considering its power and convenience, it’s a fair trade-off.

    – **Heat:** When pushing out the full 67W, it can get a bit warm. Not dangerously hot, but noticeable if you’re charging in a warm environment.

    **Final Thoughts:**

The Anker 67W USB Charger is a solid investment for anyone who needs their devices charged quickly and efficiently. It’s like having a personal power station in your pocket. If you’re tired of carrying around multiple chargers or dealing with slow charging times, this is the way to go. It’s not just good; it’s a game-changer for power management.

This is the best compact charger for travel that I’ve found. It has a great combination of small size (with folding prongs), light weight and the ability to charge 3 devices simultaneously (iPhone 13, Apple Watch, and an iPad Pro). It’s a bit heavy for its size, but it’s actually fairly light. Saves a lot of time searching for multiple outlets in hotels to plug in multiple devices. Bought several for our family. Wonderful charger!

Anker is a name I’ve trusted for years when it comes to charging accessories, and this product only solidifies that trust. This compact powerhouse has become an essential part of my daily tech setup, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance.

    Design & Build Quality: ★★★★★

The Anker Charging Brick boasts a sleek and compact design that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Its matte finish not only looks elegant but also feels pleasant to touch. The build quality is top-notch, and the device feels sturdy and durable. The foldable prongs make it incredibly portable and prevent any damage to your other belongings when carrying it in your bag or pocket.

The only (small) downside to this charger is that it is a tad heavy for its size. If the wall socket doesn’t hold the prongs firmly, the weight of this pluss the cable itself has sometimes caused the power brick to fall out of the socket.

    Charging Speed: ★★★★★

This charging brick lives up to its reputation, providing incredibly fast charging speeds. With 67W of power, it effortlessly charges my smartphone and tablet with lightning speed and even helps keep my Macbooks charged. It supports various charging protocols, including Power Delivery (PD), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices. I no longer have to wait around for hours to get my devices fully charged.

    Versatility: ★★★★★

One of the standout features of the Anker Charging Brick is its versatility. It features a single USB-C port, which can be used to charge a multitude of devices, from smartphones and tablets to laptops. I love the flexibility it offers, as I can charge my phone quickly and then switch to charging my laptop when needed. I love the folding prongs on this version which my last Anker brick did not have – making this feel more portable.

    Safety Features: ★★★★★

Anker has always been known for its commitment to safety, and this charging brick is no exception. It comes equipped with surge protection, temperature control, and advanced safety features to safeguard your devices against overcharging, overheating, and short circuits. I feel confident leaving my devices to charge overnight without any worries.

    Price: ★★★★★

Considering the quality, performance, and safety features of the Anker Charging Brick, I believe it offers excellent value for the price. It’s competitively priced, and the peace of mind that comes with a reliable brand like Anker is well worth the investment.

In conclusion, if you’re in the market for a dependable charging brick, I highly recommend giving this one a try. You won’t be disappointed!

This charger is another very solid piece of tech from Anker. Unlike many chargers you buy online, this charger is accurate to its description for wattage and charging speeds. This is the first charger I’ve seen that brings up the “Super Fast Charging” prompt on my Samsung S23.

The build quality of this charger is also top-notch. It feels solid and well-constructed, although it’s a bit heavier than I expected. The multiple ports are also very nice.

Overall, the Anker Prime 67W USB C Charger is a stellar choice for anyone needing fast and reliable charging. Despite its heaviness, the benefits of rapid charging and superior build quality make it a worthwhile purchase, especially if you can catch it on sale.

    Pros:

    Very fast charging(!)
Multiple Ports USB C and Standard USB
    High build quality
Amazing quality for cost when on sale.

    Cons:
    Heavier than most chargers
