The usb-c hub looks good, sturdy, and works right out of the box. When inserted, one side is lower, the side with two usb-c ports being higher. The side farther away from the usb-c ports is lower because of its weight and not getting as much mechanical support. This may be common problem for similar products, not just Anker. IMHO, this should and can be improved on.

I needed a USB hub for my new Macbook Air, which only has two USB C ports. I decided to try this one and so far it’s worked great. I like it because it mounts flush with the computer and doesn’t dangle. It does take up both of the USB ports on the Mac, but that’s ok. It fits perfectly and does not cover up the magnetic charging port. At first it wasn’t working, but then I was able to push it in a little tighter and it was fine. I haven’t moved the computer around, but from what I can tell the hub seems to be securely attached. It includes two USB A ports and two USB C ports, which is what I was looking for. It also has a couple of other types of ports which I probably won’t be using. One of the USB C ports is for “pass through charging” as well as data transfer. Some hubs do not transfer data through their charging port, but this one does both.
I haven’t had this long, but it worked fine when I used one of the USB A ports to transfer my files from an external drive that Carbonite sent me. My previous computer was a Windows PC, and Carbonite’s backup program is not compatible across platforms, so my only choice was to have them send an external drive. The file transfers went quickly and smoothly.
I also used the powered USB C port with an external CD drive which I also purchased from Amazon. The instructions on the drive said to not use a hub but to plug it directly into the computer. I did not want to remove the hub to use the CD drive, so I decided to try the USB C port which included the power. The CD drive worked perfectly.
I’m also using one of the USB A ports for the little plug which came with my old wireless mouse, and it is also working great.
So far, I’m very happy with this hub!

Build quality, size, and initial function are all on point. I mainly purchased this adapter for HDMI output, but the added ports are all welcome additions incase I need to use them. This adapter outputs 1440p at 120hz beautifully… right up until your macbook enters sleep state, at which point monitors and TVs won’t register any input when you try to wake the computer, so the external display doesn’t display anything. The only “fix” is to unplug the replug in the adapter or HDMI which is a pain and defeats the purpose. I went back to the cheap insignia adapter I had prior to this even though it doesn’t output at 120hz because of that one issue alone.

Se integra muy bien con el MacBook Air M1, estéticamente queda perfecto, no necesita de ningún driver conectar y usar, la salida HDMI la usa como monitos duplicado o extendido según lo configures, puedes cargar el MacBook directamente con este adaptador conectando el cable en su lugar correspondiente marcado con un rayo, los puertos usb son 3.2 de alta velocidad y el puerto usb tipo C también es 3.2 y thunderbol. Los lectores de tarjeta funcionan muy bien. Recomiendo la compra para los que necesiten más conexiones

Its color-matched pretty close to my Space Gray M1 Macbook. The dock fits snuggly to the side, and acts as a nice grip point when holding on to the laptop.
The various ports work well, it gets a little warm to touch while its under load or charging, but never gets hot.
The Anker branding is a little bit obnoxious, but otherwise the design is very sleek, I especially like the reflective accent at the end of the hub with the port labels.
I feel like its missing an Ethernet port (likely to keep the design thin) but otherwise covers all bases. You got a charging USB C, a HDMI, 2x 5Gbps USB A, 1x 5Gbps USB C, full size and micro SD card readers. I’d recommend carrying a USB-A ethernet adapter.
