Rare Fruit –
I need electrical power in one bedroom closet for multiple electrical items. Looked for a solution that included tapping another electrical box and running a separate wall plug into that closet crossed my mind. Adding up the cost of parts and other tools needed to do the job, the cost was climbing.
This power strip came up on a special back almost 4 weeks ago. It was backordered several times but it was delivered today. Here are my initial thoughts about this item.
Good: * Heavy gauge plastic construction * On/off switch with lights to indicate power on/protection (in green) and overload (in yellow/red) * Power switch acts as a circuit breaker set to trigger at 15 amps draw * Overload light set to come on when current draw is >12 amps — it turns yellow * Resetting the breaker is easy – turn the unit off then back on * There was a quality assurance test performed at the factory before shipment — paperwork was included * 8 outlets with 4 plastic socketed inserts to seal off unused plug openings * LIFETIME warranty — have to register the item with the serial number located on the bottom * Product registration done on web site or by snail mail, registration form was included * There are mounting slots on the back to mount this item to a wall or rack * The power cord is 15′ in length — black in color
Disappointed by: * The plug is straight, not a flat 90º plug, like it was represented on this site
For the price I paid, I can overlook the plug issue, but someone needs to modify the description on Amazon to reflect the proper plug. That is why I took one star from my review.
In all, I’m keeping this item and will use it for its intended purpose. The cord length was the determining factor for my purpose.

Glad to find a “heavy duty” surge protector with more than 6 outlets with a decent price. I work with sewing machines, surgers, embroidery machines and the occasional power tool. Loved it had a arm for hanging up and nail holes for on the wall. The socket covers are a nice touch but a bit of a pain to pull out the first time.

This is a great surge protector. The only thing I would change would be to place the one-off switch on the side. It’s relatively easy to activate the switch since it’s on top. I’ve used this for nearly a year. Excellent product.
