Apple Watch Series 10 GPS + Cellular Smartwatch Description
Apple Watch Series 10 GPS + Cellular: Big Screen, Slim Case, No Phone Needed
The Apple Watch Series 10 Cellular is Apple’s thinnest watch, at just 9.7mm. Besides the slim case, it offers a larger, brighter display in new 42mm and 46mm sizes. Because it has a built-in cellular connection, you can call, text, and stream music without your iPhone.
If you want a watch that looks sleek, reads easily, and works on its own, this is a great model to compare. However, prices vary a lot by size, finish, and condition. As a result, a side-by-side check can save you real money.

A Wide-Angle Display Made for Quick Glances
The Always-On display reaches up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. In addition, Apple says it looks up to 40% brighter when you view it from an angle. This helps a lot when you check the time while walking, driving, or typing.
The bigger screen also shows more of your messages, maps, and workout stats. Meanwhile, text stays sharp at 326 pixels per inch. In dark rooms, the display dims to just 1 nit, so it never feels harsh.
Thin, Light, and Available in Titanium
Both sizes are 9.7mm thick, so they sit flatter on the wrist than earlier models. The aluminum GPS + Cellular version weighs 29.3g in 42mm and 35.3g in 46mm. Titanium, on the other hand, weighs 34.4g and 41.7g.
Which finish should you pick? Consider these two options:
- Aluminum: lighter and lower priced, in Jet Black, Rose Gold, or Silver.
- Titanium: tougher and more premium, in Slate, Gold, or Natural.
Health and Fitness Features
First, electrical and optical heart sensors power the ECG app and heart rate alerts. Next, sleep apnea notifications flag signs of breathing disturbances overnight. Finally, a temperature sensor supports cycle tracking with ovulation estimates.
Swimmers and divers also get a depth gauge and a water temperature sensor. Moreover, the watch is water resistant to 50 meters and rated IP6X for dust.
The Blood Oxygen app is available too. However, US units sold between January 2024 and August 2025 may need a software update. That update enables Apple’s redesigned version.
Power, Battery, and Connectivity
The S10 chip has a dual-core processor and a 4-core Neural Engine. In addition, 64GB of storage gives you plenty of room for apps, music, and podcasts.
Apple rates the battery at up to 18 hours of normal use. Likewise, Low Power Mode stretches that to about 36 hours. When you do need a top-up, fast charging reaches 80% in about 30 minutes.
Connectivity is strong as well. For example, the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip helps you find a lost iPhone, and Apple Pay is built in. Note that setup requires an iPhone Xs or later with iOS 18 or later.
Who Should Buy It β and Who Should Wait
Apple discontinued the Series 10 on September 9, 2025, after launching the Series 11. Therefore, you will mostly find it at retailers, carriers, and refurbished programs.
Buy the Series 10 if you:
- want a large, bright display in a slim design,
- prefer a lower price than the current model, or
- need an independent cellular watch for runs and swims.
Look at the Series 11 instead if you want the newest hardware and the longest software support.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Apple Watch Series 10 GPS and GPS + Cellular?
The GPS + Cellular model has an LTE radio and eSIM. Therefore, it can make calls, send messages, and stream music without your iPhone nearby, provided your carrier supports Apple Watch plans. The GPS model, however, needs a paired iPhone or Wi-Fi for those features. Cellular models also cost more.
What sizes does the Apple Watch Series 10 come in?
It comes in 42mm and 46mm, and both are 9.7mm thick. Apart from the display size, the chip, sensors, storage, and features are the same.
Should I choose aluminum or titanium?
Aluminum is lighter and cheaper. Titanium, on the other hand, is stronger and more premium, although it weighs a little more. Health and performance features are identical.
How long does the battery last?
Apple rates it at up to 18 hours of normal use. In Low Power Mode, it lasts up to 36 hours. Meanwhile, fast charging reaches about 80% in roughly 30 minutes.
Does it have ECG, sleep apnea detection, and Blood Oxygen?
Yes, it includes all three. However, on US units sold between January 2024 and August 2025, you may need a software update to enable Blood Oxygen.
Is the Apple Watch Series 10 waterproof?
It is water resistant to 50 meters and swimproof, with IP6X dust resistance. As a result, it suits pool swimming, showers, and workouts. It is not built for high-speed water sports or deep diving, though.
Does it work without an iPhone?
The Cellular model does, for calls, messages, and streaming, once you activate a supported carrier plan. Nevertheless, you still need an iPhone for the initial setup.
Which iPhone do I need?
You need an iPhone Xs or later, including iPhone SE (2nd generation or later). In addition, it must run iOS 18 or later.
Is the Apple Watch Series 10 still available new?
Apple discontinued it on September 9, 2025. Even so, some retailers may still have new stock, and refurbished units are common. Therefore, compare current listings on Discompare to see today’s best price.
Is the Apple Watch Series 10 still worth buying?
Yes, if you find it at a good price. It has a modern design, a bright wide-angle display, and a full health toolkit. The trade-off, however, is that newer hardware exists and software support will end sooner.
Confirm the size (42mm or 46mm…) before Buying, and store each size as a separate variant.

Preston –
Itβs a great looking watch, slimmer than the previous version, slightly better battery life and some new software features. Overall, itβs a great piece of tech and I like his software keeps adding innovative features, while hardware still maintains a small but incremental change approach. Not a βmust buyβ, if you are on series 8 or 9.

This is my third Apple Watch and an upgrade from the Watch 6. I loved my 6, but it was just time to get a new one. So, the first thing I noticed was how much CLEARER the face was! Not just bigger (I went from 40 mm to 42mm) but so much clearer, and brighter and easier to read. The second thing was, how might LIGHTER it feels on my wrist…almost as if nothing is there. Even with the face protector, it is so much lighter than the 6. As for the battery, I charge it to 100% (quick charge!) and wear it all day and night, and it still has a decent amount of charge in it. But I still charge it each morning so I can wear it all day and night again.
I chose the GPS + Cellular model this time because, being a bit older and not always near my phone, I wanted the watch to be able to work on its own in an emergency.
As for apps, I haven’t had much time to try them all out, but the ones I did use have more functionality than before. I did notice a lot more ways, like an emoji app, to customize texting and messaging. Calls are nice and clear as well. There are also more ways to customize each app to your own preferences. And there are a lot more watch faces to choose from.
Yes, I am an Apple person – iPhones, watches, iPads, MacBooks, and I just love the way everything interfaces.
All in all, I LOVE my new Apple Watch and totally worth the investment.
