The product sounds pretty easy but actually doesn’t contribute the tanks cycle. I add 4 balls and some hardy guppy as instruction described for new 20 new tank for quick cycle. After three weeks ammonia level is like 2ppm while there’s no nitrite or nitrate which means the bacteria doesn’t do it’s job. (Set up: water all seasoned, sponge filter , light, live Amazon sword , grass, java moss and java fern, sand substance filled with root taps. *set up should be all right which means the bacteria ball doesn’t work.)

Since these hit the market they’re all I use. This bacteria works better than any liquid products I have used over the years. You can start a fresh tank with comfort that you’re not going to have ammonia related deaths. Want to add a dozen fish to your tank without cycling it, these are perfect. I have had nothing but success using these bacteria balls.
