Boots are very comfortable. I bought these to replace a pair that had lasted longer than ANY OTHER WORK BOOT that I’ve owned. Having said that, the older boots were 10+ years old and I couldn’t find them again. So, each time I searched up the old product number, these showed up> so I gave em a try. First impression: they may last through winter (but I’ll update in spring). The materials appear to ALL be man-made / processed leather (which makes sense with the previous reviewer who showed sole delimiting). I ordered normal width but “EE’s” showed up> maybe I no longer understand widths…?
Suffice it to say, I like the way they feel, the insole wants to follow your footon the way out of the boot (poor quality / workmanship) and the “leather” materials appear to be 100% processed or man-made. The term “100% leather” seems a tad misleading and when I ordered a normal width but got EE’s… that seems odd. These boots will probably end up too big once I wear them more. Time will tell. More to follow! A couple weeks in and they feel like slippers> that means in a year, they’ll be like sloppy rubber boots. I hope I’m wrong!
July 2023 update: I abuse these boots in the regular. I’m happy to say they did not stretch out or become sloppy. I am seeing some desalination in the sole as expected. But get this> I ride my motorcycle in them, I work cattle in them, I change irrigation with them on, they have been completely submerged several times and they keep water out REALLY REALLY WELL. Comfort: THEY’RE STILL VERY COMFY. I will buy another pair in knowing that they’re only good for about a year. I doubt they’ll make it to winter. More to follow!

My 4th pair of Ariats, 1st pair of square toe work boots. Out of the box-1st, out of the box comfortable. 2nd, good fit-ordered my regular size. Amazon said the I should order a size bigger, but I didn’t. Glad I didn’t pay attention to their comment. So far, I think break in will be less than an hour. It did, fit great. UPDATE-returned for a 1/2 size from regular everywhere. Fit is better. UPDATE- wearThe boots were comfortable out of box. After a few weeks the boots fit like a glove. I’ll buy again if these wear out. UPDATE, 4 months after purchase. I wear these boots everywhere. Work all day in the yard, brush them good and wear them out to dinner. One review said the leather will root before the soles will wear out. The soles show no wear. These boots are the most comfortable ones I own.

The style and fit of the boots are amazing. Just need to make sure you break them in properly or else your feet may be sore for longer walks in the beginning of owning them.

I’m on my second pair of these, having just replaced my first pair after about 1.5 years of daily use on construction sites.
Insole replaced after about six months originally with the ariat insoles, they lasted about another year along with the boots.
Very stiff out of the box, recommend using mink oil or something similar to loosen up the leather and add water resistance. These are not waterproof, you have to grease them periodically.
Leather is pretty durable, holds up well to scratches from rocks, wood, nails, concrete, etc on job sites.
Not super well insulated so I would recommend think socks in the winter time for warmth.
Arch and heel support is very good, even better if you swap the insoles out for the better ones.
10/10, will probably buy a third time in another year or two when I need another pair.

I have three pairs of Ariat boots and this is by far the most comfortable pair I own, the break in period is very minimal and develops a nice patina quickly. I can wear these all day they are that comfortable. In my experience, I typically wear size 11 in Ariat boots but I wear a 10.5 in the groundbreaker. They’re not fully waterproof but keep my feet dry when it’s rainy or stomping though puddles. I hope they never stop making these boots!
