Audio-Technica Automatic Turntable AT-LP60X-BK

After my old 1960s Dual 1009SK finally gave up the ghost, I was in a quandary as what to get for replacement. Shopped around a lot with friends and internet, etc. and found this Audio Technica AT-LP60X-BK on Amazon. It had very good ratings and was priced reasonably, in fact so reasonable I almost skipped over it, thinking it wasn’t that good. Sure glad I took a chance! Despite the low price, it performs beautifully with no noise, no hassle, and simple, effective operation. It comes complete with cartridge, dust cover, cables, etc. It’s compact, unobtrusive, good looking and just works well!! Oh, and because I’m finicky, I have ordered an elliptical needle cartridge, although the included one seems to sound just fine.

O equipamento chegou muito bem embalado, peças devidamente protegidas. Instalação simplificada. O acionamento “automatizado” impede aquele indesejado raspar da agulha no vinil. A qualidade da agulha é muito boa com isso a reprodução adquire uma qualidade digna dos bons equipamentos dos anos 80 do século XX. Se você investir neste equipamento, considere também investir em boas caixas acústicas, existem modelos muito bons com preços acessíveis e que valorizarão ainda mais a reprodução deste equipamento.

 First it arrived on time. I’ve had it now for about two weeks. I’ve been testing it out before leaving a review. The Built quality is really good, stylus and arm set up already. You can only change the stylus, it as a good built in arm, with balance counter weight, not adjustable. It was very easy to set up. Once I set everything up. I hooked it up to my edifier R1700BT. It brought my records to life. Way better than my other turntable. The stylus is great, gives great sound. It also helps to have a great speaker, and clean vinyl. This is a Great turntable for beginners, and those who love listening to vinyl. For those more advanced, an upgrade would be best. In the future I might get an upgrade. I love my vinyl collection, I’m always looking for vinyl. I’m very happy with my purchase. Oh forgot the turntable as built in amps, my speakers also as built in amps. Line and phono at the back. It’s fully auto, start and when finished it auto return. The cover is plastic, easy to remove. The only thing is, I wish it was a bit heavier. I’m very happy with it.

I’ve had it for a few months now. It’s still working great, still sounding great. I don’t play it often. Just once in a while. Glad I bought it.

Having owned turntables since adolescence, I know a good turntable when I see one. This is not necessarily a bad product. It serves a purpose. The price is right and it will last if you take very good care of it. I looked at other turntables that were pricier and I concluded that these devices are quite similar except in price. Having had to discard my old Technics turntable which I had since 1982 because of an inability to get a replacement belt drive, it had to be tossed. Sadly, I might add.
Having an extensive vinyl and CD collection, I made do with my disc player. However, I yearned for the sound of vinyl.
This is not a bad machine and unlike my previous turntable which was manual this one is automatic to play albums and 45’s. It’s kinda nice. However, it doesn’t feel as sturdy as it is quite light. I found out the needle is very, very fragile as it can pop off easily and if you’re not careful it can easily break if you don’t put it back just so. The drive belt seems very light and I just hope it doesn’t wear out with extensive use. But that’s the chance we all take.
Delivery was very good and it arrived undamaged. It is easy to set up and shows clear instructions. There is also a switch on the back of the turntable. I have no idea what purpose it serves. When I put my first album on, it sounded very distorted. I thought my receiver or my speakers were the issue or that I hadn’t connected it properly. None of this was the case and trying one last thing it was the switch in the back of the table itself. Once I flipped it the sound was perfectly clear. It’s a good machine and it serves its purpose. It’s just that it’s so light to the point it feels flimsy. My advice to anyone purchasing this model is; it is a quality machine that serves its purpose, but keep the original box cause if you plan on moving or decide to set it up elsewhere it is very fragile so be careful.

This little turntable is awesome. So easy to set up, sounds amazing. Get some good speakers and you’re ready to go. Love that I don’t have to touch the needle!

Works fantastic, bought this specifically to play my new ABBA box set. Universal pressing quality is sub par and so I was worried how it’d sound. Despite the horrible pressing, it sounds fantastic on this turntable which completely shocked me. Easy to set up and sound quality is better than I expected. I couldn’t recommend this turntable more for beginners or people looking for cheaper options but wanting good quality sound output. The only downside I’ve had is the fact the RCA cable is soooo short, otherwise completely worth the price.

Review for: Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-BK. I am in my late 50’s and once upon a time I had a record player and a few record albums (popular gift item of the time) but not too many.. as such, I’ve always wanted to get back into hunting for, and collecting records and really get to enjoy them. Enter the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-BK. The first thing that struck me was how small the player is compared to the giant combo record player AM FM 8 track I had as a kid. The Audio-Technica is sleek in appearance and very clean looking. Looks aside, I found the setup pretty easy. Made all the connections and installed the belt etc.. Easy. And I appreciate that.. Playing a record for the first time on it brought back a flood of memories for me personally. I have to say, I really missed playing records. There’s just something about the physicality of the media, the warm tones, the amazing sound quality.. to my ear at least, it sounds “thicker” somehow. Not sure if that’s the right way to describe it.. But definitely better sounding than the radio in my opinion. The Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-BK is bringing the joy of record collecting and music appreciation to a respectable level for me. I recommend it!
