I have a traditional classical guitar and two different Godin Multiacs. I used to be a die hard D’Addario Pro-Arte Nylon Classical Guitar Strings, Light Tension (EJ43) fan. I had tried so many strings over the years and they had become my favorite until my bass player bought me a set of these. They are easier to play than the D’Addarios and sound far brighter and “seem” to last longer. They are a tad more money but for me well worth it. D’Addario EJ43s are good set of strings but these are definitely better. Hope this helps.

Completely satisfied all that I have been looking for in a Classical String. i personally would’ve gotten a higher tension as my right hand is heavy playing and the light trebles disagree with me tone wise, but the strings sound and feel amazing.

I wish they would attach tiny labels to each individual string, rather than place two strings in 3 paper envelopes. Easier, and less waste, but- not a deal breaker, since the strings themselves are my favorite. I’d been using D’Addario steel strings on steel stringed instruments (and continue to), so initially I used theirs for classical guitars as well. It’s personal preference but these sound better to my ears. They make medium and high tension strings as well, and while using those might perk up the fidelity even more, I think that for myself and my approach, not having a bit of give via the tension would be be missed. The wound strings do seem to wear out just a bit faster than other makes, but most people change out strings more frequently than I do..I’ve always disliked the task! The only complaint I’d log is that these have taken a pretty steep price hike since my last purchase…which I hope is temporary.

I use these strings on my 1977 Ramirez 1A and get a very sweet sound. I don’t over-humidify my guitar, so my Ramirez already has a crisp sound. These strings give it a nice, easy-listenable tone. If you keep your Ramirez highly humidified, you might prefer the La Bella 2001 set, or the incredibly crisp Savarez Cantiga strings. It takes a lot of time to find the right strings for the right player and the right guitar. The basses do have a bit of string noise (depending on how precise you are) so probably not a first choice for recording.

Pleasenote that every guitar handles string brands in different ways. My larger bodied Ortega flamenco acoustic did NOT like these strings. The tone production was of minimal quality, and this particular guitar needs more projection to drive the natural characteristics of the guitar. These strings didn’t provide that and I removed them within 2 days.
