We have many solar charged lights around our property. These need to be in direct sunlight for as much time as possible all day. We first placed them on the North side of some plants so we could see the plants light up with color at night, but after the first night they only had the cool colors for a couple hours, then less and less until no light. We moved them so that the panels are in direct sunlight with no shade cast on them at all. This is a no brainer that solar charged lights need sunshin, but we have many other solar lights that get sun only 50% or less during the day and ones that are in the shadow of a tree and they last all night without issues. Either the batteries don’t hold much of a charge or the lights drain the batteries quickly, wither way, don’t expect these to last all night or to be extremely bright. We have plugged in spot lights for the areas we want bright light for long periods of time. No solar spot light will give you a bright light that lasts all night unless it have a very large panel and batteries. We will defenitely buy more of these in the future to illuminate more plants further from the house. Styles like this are best where the solar panel and light(s) can be adjusted independantly so that you can get the panel facing the sun as much as possible and the light aimed where you want. Don’t buy spot lights with the solar panel affixed to the top of the light, you can only point the light North and the panel South (if you’re in the Northern hemisphere). Buy these and enjoy the light show everynight!

Bought these as a gift for our friend who has lots of Royal Palms in his yard. He loves these solar lights & they light up the Palms beautifully at night. Highly recommend.

These wont charge of they arent getting absolute direct sunlight. A little cloudy? Wont charge fully. In some shade? Wont charge. The lights themselves arent bad and are easy to choose colors.

We received these before Christmas to use year round. They’re bright and beautiful. They’re a better investment than the $25 each bulky lights made by better homes and gardens.. They are a hard plastic vs metal but again these have been in for 6 months and all are working perfectly.
