Beast Kingdom King Shark DAH-035 Dynamic Action Figure

My son was so excited about receiving this item, but when we took it out of the shipping box the tape holding closed the item box had already been sliced through and the tape holding the interior packaging had also been tampered with. Most of the accessories were missing from the interior packaging as well. The photos attached show the cut tape, slots for missing accessories and what was supposed to come in the box. For the price paid having pieces missing is unacceptable.

I was honestly shocked from the moment I took the box out of the package. Hes easily over the average six inch figure. He has all the accessories and is very articulated. Honestly one of my favorite figures I’ve bought so far.

I’m a huge fan of Mezco and figures with soft goods but this is my first Beast Kingdom figure. The reason I got it was because I really enjoyed the second Suicide Squad film, and this looked like the best 1:12 scale King Shark figure. I bought mine from a figure specialty site for $120 and as I write this review it’s currently $108 on Amazon.

King Shark, the character, is listed as standing 7’2” with the figure being 8.26” so it’s above 1:12 scale. I also ordered Peacemaker, which hasn’t arrived yet, and the figure is listed as 8” so Beast Kingdom doesn’t seem to be trying to maintain scale consistency even within its own line. The figure has a nice weight, appropriate for the price and the sculpt looks very much like Nanaue. The shoulders are a bit stiff and creaky and feature some near useless butterfly joints. The elbow joints are a bit more obvious than I usually like but feature greater than 90 degree bend. The knee joints have well below 90 degree bend but I don’t care since King Shark is not a particularly agile character on land. The ankles are fine and the head is limited to swivel. I’d say it’s acceptable articulation for a higher end figure but far from amazing.

The figure comes with an open mouth head and a closed mouth head. Might have been cool if it had a hinged jaw. There a 6 “ferocious sea monster”, those adorable, colorful creatures that attacked King Shark when the tank broke open. There is a tiny Starro starfish, the book King Shark was reading upside down, a set of alternate hands and the plastic explosive man that King Shark molded. The coolest feature is his removable shorts, and this is really the only soft goods on the figure. The shorts aren’t really held on by anything but stay up very well.

I had some buyers remorse after buying this figure. I hated splitting up my collection since I’ve gone all in on Mezco’s DC figures but Shark King is actually in pretty good scale with the Mezco figures. I’m not in love with the figure with my main problem being the joints. I would calls the figure adequate and not much more.
