So I ordered this cute little guy however I am still deciding if it is as cute as I thought it would be. Looks nice…arrived with no dents or issues. Came with tools but I had my son put together and he said it was easy (he is a pro at assembly even in the worst of cases)…I found it to be a bit more flimsy than anticipated. But with that being said, it has yet to cave in with all the crap I have on it. It’s been useful for my garage for all my Costco overflow (Waters, PT, TP, soaps, etc). Soooo….functional and provides more storage. Happy Girl.

I purchased this shelf for both its size, but also reported sturdiness (600 pounds per shelf). I like to breed and raise aquarium fish, so I planned on putting 4 10 gallon tanks on 2 shelves (about 400 pounds per shelf). Once I filled the tanks, I noticed that the shelf was bowing towards the center, which indicates that the material is not able to support about 400 pounds, which is 200 pounds off of the advertised 600 pounds. I even tried remedying the issue with 3/4” plywood, but the bowing still occurred.
If you are an aquarist, like myself, DO NOT purchase this shelving unit. I have wasted a lot of money trying to setup a shrimp rearing system, and now I am left with a shelf that takes up an obscene amount of space and no tanks. In the future, I will be building my own shelves.
TT’s Trade –
I really needed these shelves so I started putting them together right away. – While unpacking I noticed immediately that the shelves (and some of the brackets/legs) where bent (see picture of the biggest).
The instructions mentioned using a hammer, so I got out my rubber hammer/mallet out and went to work. I also used my own gloves as the provided gloves barely fit on my very small (female) hands. – Only at the very end did I also notice the black little plastic thing was actually THEIR version of assembly tool, …. NOT! It might work for a child set of make believe toy tools but that is it!
The shelves were RELATIVELY easy to put together, (but then I have assembled many many IKEA ™ items of varying difficulty), but the “flexible” placement of the (middle) shelves can lead to problems – as you need enough space to be able to angle the shelf to put it in place on the braces. My middle shelf first ended up too close to the top shelf, which meant I had to partially disassemble the entire shelves to get the middle out and back in shelf in. – So much for adjustability; my suggestion: make darn sure at the beginning of your assembly where you want your middle shelf.
I switched from the rubber hammer to a dead blow hammer fairly quickly during assembly – that much power was needed to wedge the (bend) shelves together.
The shelves and metal material feels sturdy but again, why did they come bent? – They are smooth and coated and fairly easy to clean. – They will easily hold 150lbs… cause I stood on them but I am absolutely questioning the claim to hold 500lb on EACH shelve panel.
** Overall ** relatively sturdy metal shelves – somewhat easy assembly if you know where you want your shelves to go but somehow something is off: arrived bent and assembly tools are a joke. – See my picture of “left over” (mallet and dead blow are mine). – Glad I needed them in the carafe and not in a kitchen. Will be using the shelves but not buy again.

First piece of advice is to ignore all of the photos in the listing. They were obviously put together in Photoshop or something, because the proportions are all out of whack. If you want to know what these look like, watch the assembly video above.
These shelves are advertised as being heavier and thicker, but in fact they are normal, stamped and folded-metal that snap together, with thin folded metal shelves. Assembly was easy and took about 5 minutes. I would hesitate to load them with the 500 lbs. per shelf they claim to hold, but they are sturdy enough and hold my 50 lb. printer just fine.
I have no problem recommending the shelves, but at $60 they are mighty expensive. Catch them on sale and they might be a better value proposition.

lightweight but very strong and sturdy. Perfect size for a small space with quite a lot of storage room considering it is quite short. putting this together is pretty much a breeze and should only take 5-10mins at most.

I don’t know about this little guy holding up to 1500 lbs or even 500 lbs on any one shelf, but it’s sturdy and stable enough to serve its purpose in my basement. Assembly was easy, just slide and snap the little pegs into their holes.

I ordered this to organize my garage. It was nice enough that I left it in my foyer by the front door. The end caps were missing, and the company responded immediately to apologetically and kindly send replacements out. It was absolutely well-packaged, too. The pieces do take a bit of effort to hammer together. There is a plastic hammer included, yet it ended up chipping (just a little, though still usable). It wasn’t quite strong enough to hammer all pieces in place (partly my impatience), so I used a small regular hammer. A regular hammer was loud in my house, with pets, so I wish I’d put it together outside. Also, I had to be cautious to not hammer too hard, because I bent the metal. It did not interfere with the shelving fitting well. Despite a bit of mindfulness when putting it together (easily done, especially following the video’s QR code), this 3-tier shelf came together easily and is a nice set of shelves.
