This is a perfectly good, simple 12-cup coffee maker. The best thing about it—the carafe does not dribble when you pour hot coffee into a cup. So many other carafes do dribble. No this one. Just remember to shut it off, as it has no auto-shut-off feature.

The carafe is easy to handle and plainly shows how much water per cup to use . I just love this coffee pot. I drink about 2 cups of coffee per day and it is just perfect for me. doesnt take up much room and it is extremely easy to clean. All I do is plug it into the wall when I am ready for a cup of coffee, switch the button and in a few seconds I have my pot of coffee. Highly recommend this.

Good for the price you pay. Easy to use right out of the box. It does leak though when you lift the lid to take out the filter, it leaks sometimes when you remove the carafe to pour your coffee. It’s not bad, but wanted people to know that. it’s very lightweight, and doesn’t take up much counter space.

I got tired of the taste of my Keurig Coffee and I wanted to return to a drip coffee. I live alone and have no use for a large 12-cup Coffee Maker, so the Black & Decker 5-Cup is ideal for me. The 5-Cup Coffee Maker is a great space-saving product as its compact size barely takes up room on my counter top and can be easily tucked away.
I have had this for several months now and the coffee still comes out nice, hot and tasty. My only minor gripe is that when you try to switch it off, it shifts easily because it is so light once all the water/coffee is removed.
Pretty much 9.5/10, I would recommend this product.

The switch broke on my previous coffee maker so I bought the less expensive version of a coffiee maker. I personally don’t see putting a lot of money into a coffee Maker. It is easy to use andsimple to clean. The coffiee taststss great as well. I made a great descision to go less expensive. I cannot see for any reason why some are so expensive with all they do is brew coffee. This one works fine and would be a great choise for camping if you have electricity, Buy this one instead of a more expensive one.

STOP BUYING EXPENSIVE COFFEE POTS!!! I was tired of spending $80+ once a year on a coffee pot that would only last a year and had special screws so that you couldn’t get in and clean the water pipes inside that so easily clogged. Just think of the crap your coffee water is being filtered through before making your coffee. I’m so angry, those screws should be illegal. This coffee pot is just a simple, manual machine that would make coffee fast. Forget throwing so much money away so you can set a clock to have coffee for the morning. You can pour the water and put the grinds in the night before then simply click it on in the morning or spend one minute doing it in the morning and have your coffee faster than you can finish your morning bathroom routine. I’m angry at these companies that deliberately put those screws there to deliberately (uhum) screw you to get more money from you.
So what if you spend a few days to get your perfect coffee flavour, you generally have to do that with any pot. I did have to use a bit more coffee with this one because it pours so fast – or maybe it’s simply because it’s a 12 cup pot instead of the 10 cup I was using. I also had x3 thermos coffee pots from the more expensive machines so I simply pour the coffee into one and voila !! Hot coffee for the day without the burn.
THANK YOU ‘BLACK and DECKER’ for this cost-saving “Easy Pour, Non-Drip Carafe with Removable Filter Basket” product. I actually didn’t check the type of screws on this one, yet – I’m still too angry about them, but I hope you think about normal ones if you’re using those ‘screwy’ ones. Give the consumer a chance to drink clean water by letting us clean those pipes inside. I guarantee you’ll increase sales on any of your coffee pots if you advertise that ability to always drink clean water with ‘Black and Decker’ products!

If you’re looking for something really basic, then this is a good coffee maker—it’s inexpensive (comparatively) and easy to use with only one button that turns it on and off. However, the overall quality of the machine and the coffee it makes are only okay.
The bottom of the machine I received was uneven, so it wobbles on my kitchen counter instead of sitting steady, and one side of the plastic hinge on the top lid of the machine broke/snapped within the first couple uses. Neither issue prevents the coffee maker from working, but they are annoying to deal with on a daily basis. I might have just gotten a wonky/defective machine, but it seems more like a quality issue with the plastic. Maybe the plastic weakened/warped slightly out of shape from how they stored it before shipping? Not sure, but it’s worth being aware before deciding to order one.
Coffee wise, I brewed the coffee using the same amount of grounds and water that I normally do, but it came out with a stronger/heavier/darker roast flavor. Easy enough to adjust for (and maybe it has more to do with me than the coffee maker), but again it’s worth noting so you know what to expect.

I got this BLACK+DECKER 5-Cup Coffeemaker for my son’s apartment, and he loves it! It’s easy for him to use, even though he’s just starting out on his own.
The size is just right, making enough coffee without any extra. It’s simple and works great, making mornings easier. And it looks cool in his kitchen!
I’m really happy he likes it. It’s a great choice if you want a coffee maker that’s easy and makes good coffee!
