I have been looking for a fan to fit on my windowsill between the window and blinds that would be quiet enough to not disturb everyday life. I only found one other fan with a smaller footprint (2-Speed Tabletop Box Fan 9-Inch Compact Quiet Home Office, White) and decided to try this one first because it shipped prime (and therefore was also cheaper, with the free shipping) and because of its prettier design.
Now that I’ve received it, I do really like the sleek, clean-looking style that doesn’t look “warehouse-y” or industrial indoors. It has a nice slim, simple design and a small footprint (hard to see on the images, the base is T-shaped and incorporated into the shape such that it’s not a full box sitting on its bottom side like most). Fits on my windowsill between the screen and the blinds (even though I think its width is really more accurately ~4.25in rather than 4in flat), which is what I wanted. It’s quite light-weight but seems stable and doesn’t shake at all, or even move when the plastic blinds move around and bump it. The first/slowest speed is so quiet that most likely someone buying it for white noise would be disappointed. This is perfect for me because that speed is sufficient to get air moving in my AC-less apartment on a hot day without making a bothersome amount of noise. The 2nd and 3rd speeds do make some noticeable white noise but I think still an acceptable level for that amount of power–but I doubt I will need those speeds. The only thing that is not 100% wonderful about this fan is that the cord comes out of the back on the side opposite the speed dial and there’s no room in the small base for the cord to pass under rather than over the fan if you want to cord to come out on the other side (e.g. in my apt, the outlet happens to be on the other side relative to the fan). I am able to cross it over on top of the fan behind the frame so that in the end it’s not visible, and it’s a small detail anyway.
All in all, this fits my needs perfectly and lives up to its advertised purpose. I am buying 4 more so I have one on every windowsill in my apartment for the summer!

Alright so in my office I have these really oddly shaped small windows. I have a lot of electronics in my office and it gets pretty warm. For example if it’s 70 outside and I have all the windows open in my house, my house will be about 70 but my office will be 76 which is slightly uncomfortable. Long story short I needed a small fan. My office has 2 windows, so I picked up 2 of these. These little fans are absolutely amazing. They are quiet, they push a ton of air and they do exactly what you want. It’s a massive bonus that they can also just sit on a desk or shelf if you want. I loved them so much, I purchased 2 more for bedrooms. These are so much better than giant box fans!

Works ok. I use it next to my bed for when I have hot flashes at night. I’ve had this for a while now and when I first turn it on, it makes a lot of noise but quiets down. Didn’t do that when it was new. Also the switch ‘click’ is very loud. My husband is usually in bed before me and when I turn it on it wakes him up most of the time. But it was inexpensive, so…

*Update* got another one June 2023 and it’s rattling right out of the box. BUT it came in the original box which is NOT meant to ship in, no styrofoam just wrapped in plastic. Moves all over the box.** Will return for one shipped in proper shipping box.. end of update*
Started on the table but fits nicely in my double paned window with the screen in and is really quiet. no air conditioner in stock yet so bought 2 one for each bedroom and turn it on about a half hour before bed. prefer the cool fresh air so will use the air conditioner only when needed for our heat waves. very happy!

Great small fan that you can put on table or in window. Great for vacation. Quiet. Of course, I like the fan white noise, so they are actually too quiet for my taste. Ha ha!

Bought this with a slight hesitance considering some reviews saying it rattles or stops functioning well after about 1 month. I’ve used it every day (canadian heat) since it was delivered in may—and even dropped it a few times, in fact it is running as i’m writing this and still running very well. Moves a lot of air and does it’s job efficiently. 5 stars.

My very old electric fan finally bit the dust. I need a fan at night both for white noise and air circulation. This has a nice variety of speeds. It’s a good size for my bedroom and a nice steady sound. I have never had a Black and Decker fan before and to be honest, wasn’t aware they made fans. This allows me to not need to set my AC so low at night, saving on my electric bill. It’s easily the best fan I’ve ever had and I highly recommend it!

Funcional, realmente es para un escritorio o el buro donde requieres un nivel de flujo de aire agradable y un nivel de ruido mínimo. Tengo otro de Honeywell mucho más flujo de aire pero el ruido es más intenso y si lo tiene muy cerca llega a ser molesto.

We’ve bought quite a few of these fans. We like them because they are pretty quiet, fit on our window sills, and work well. Cons are they are difficult to clean and seem to crap out after about two years (likely because they get full of dust). But we use them a lot so given the price, they work for us.
