I had been feeding live worms to bluebirds. They love fresh, but did adapt to the freeze dried pretty well by mixing the two. After that I did fresh sometimes and only freeze dried at others. They ate them all. As a side note, the survival rate for bluebirds that are fed consistently is well over 85%. A pair of birds have to work hard to feed a brood of 4-5 fledglings and the rate of survival drops to something like 65% without feeding. Also recently learned that if either parent dies, the brood dies. Just a few tidbits of info.

reviewing these because im super happy with them.
its a pretty big plastic container filled basically to the brim with regular sized meal worms. had a can-like seal, which i was happy about. took a while to figure out that i had to pop off the lid rather than twist it open, but it happens lol. immediately after opening i put a few in a little cup with some water to make them easy to pick up for my quails and once soft i dropped them in. my quails went NUTSSS. running around, stealing from each other, quite literally chugging the worms… it was pretty crazy. but im glad they’re happy
to those who want some sizeable worms, these are not for you. i’d recommend giant mealworms or super worms (warning: if live, super worms do bite!)

Of all the things I’ve bought for my turtle to eat, these mealworms are her favorite thing to eat. They do have a slight smell but nothing terrible. This bottle has lasted a good amount of time and will last her a lot longer so its a great value considering how long it will last her.

They keep my garage clean of insects. In return, I give them this tasty snack. It’s gone as fast as I can put it out on the floor in coffee can lids. My lizards are the curly tails from the Bahamas.
