Love the size of this kettle. It works perfectly in a small apartment (tiny kitchen) and easily fits into a cupboard or takes up minimal space on the countertop. It holds the perfect amount of water for a single person, rather than having to boil an entire giant kettle for one small cup of tea. This would function very well for one or two individuals looking for something compact yet extremely sleek looking and very efficient!

It is a great kettle and works as described. It is very light and compact and doesn’t make much noise when boiling. You can fill it with a maximum of 4 cups. Be mindful that there is no temperature control, you only can turn it on to boil water. I recommend it as a convenient and small kettle!

This kettle is meant for the office. There are two keurigs at work that everyone uses but no one ever cleans or descales. I have been at my job for almost six months now and I have been fearful of the keurigs just because I can only imagine the crap that will be floating in hot steaming cups of water. This kettle is my solution. It holds enough water to make ramen at my desk or to quickly prepare pho noodles when I bring pho to work. Because it is not temperature controlled, I would only recommend it for making French press, instance coffee, or black tea at work if one were to purchase it for making beverages rather than heating water for food. I store this little kettle in a large drawer above my desk with my other mini appliances and it takes up less space than my mini soup pot. I will warn that the lid needs to be properly closed before boiling and pouring your water. Be gentle with it, don’t just treat it like it’s a larger kettle because it’s not. I have not had any issues with it but I have ready other reviews stating the latter. I take good care of the items I spend money on in hopes of making them last so if you want this cute little kettle to last, treat it well and descale it as needed.

Unlike an earlier version of this product, this one can be turned off manually. The old one would only shut off if/when it decided to. That one conked out after a few years. This new version is better, safer.
I more recently bought a larger electric kettle with a glass carafe. Soon the water left unsightly but oh-so-visible deposits. The Bodum is opaque, so the deposits are not visible. It is an attractive, simple no-nonsense design – could say elegant – and does its job well. This one is a keeper and is used almost every day. The glass one goes to the cottage.

I must admit at first I was a little put off by how plasticky this kettle is, but the nice design and simplicity won me over. It does only one thing and does it well – it boils water and automatically shuts off with a satisfying “click”. The Bodum kettle takes up very little space in the kitchen which is half the reason I chose it. I’ve been using it to boil water for coffee every day for the past three months and I’m very happy.

I like the white color and the speed of boil time. Great product!

Nice item

I bought this to use at work. Coworkers use it every day, it’s the perfect size for one or two people. It’s simple enough that anyone can figure it out without a tutorial. Boil time is a little longer than it takes to microwave lunch.

This is my first electric kettle, and it’s now my favorite appliance. I drink instant coffee, and this is so simple to use in the morning. It’s those little things that make the morning that much nicer – like a good bath towel.
Yes, it’s plastic, but it’s very light and I assume doesn’t leach chemicals into the water. Anyway, it seems solid, but I’ve only used it a few dozen times.
The reason I even came to this review page is to see if others were having occasional trouble with the on/off switch. And I see others have mentioned the on-off swirch can be finicky, especially if you have wet hands (or a wet thunb to be precise). Maybe the swith needs more of a ridge or grooves to have a better grip.
Also as others mention, the lid doesn’t easily come off, but it’s also nice that the lid doesn’t get separated. it doesn’t need to be reattached, and it opens with a press of a button.
It’s a great kettle in my view, though I have little experience with other models.

Bought to bring on a trip. As tea drinkers, we were able to enjoy tea in our room with boiled water and not the lukewarm stuff available from the hotel. It heats up quickly and is stable on its base. Will consider the larger version for home use.
