Great tools

I specialize in concrete retaining walls, and I’m a hobbyist woodworker. I already own the 18v lithium ion drill and impact driver kit from Bosch, and after a few years use, would highly reccomend that as well. I purchased the 12v kit mainly because I was sick of bringing my 18v home from work, and didn’t think all the size and power of the 18v was really necessary for my small woodworking projects, or use around the house.
The kit I received came in the zippered canvas like pouch, not the L-box. I prefer this as it seems to take up less space. The drill and impactor are plenty compact and feel very solid, but not overly heavy. As a comparrison, the Milwaukee 12v felt set felt almost twice as heavy. Both the drill and driver have a battery life display gauge which is helpful. The led light at the tip of the drill and driver is helpful as well. A fully drained battery will charge in roughly 1/2hr. The impactor comes in at 930 in/lbs of torque which is impressive, and more than adequate for most tasks.
As far as function goes, I was blown away! I was in the middle of forming an 80′ x 8′ concrete retaining wall out dry hardened doug fir 2×10, when the brushes on my 18v impactor went out. I reluctantly decided to bring the 12v impactor in to see if it was up to task. Wow!!! This thing drove 3″ galvanized deck screws into hardened dry doug fir with ease, no pre-drilling. It was actually slightly faster and quieter, than its bigger 18v brother. The quantity driven at roughly 50 screws, was about 3/4 of the 18v which I’d expect given the different voltages. The drill performs equally as well. I mainly use it as a dedicated countersink, so i cant attest to its torque. The clutch settings perform as expected, and I have not experienced any chuck wobble.
The form factor of both drill and driver is great. I have average sized hands and find both to be very comfortable in hand. I definitely prefer the balance in hand over the 18v. I find myself using my middle finger on the trigger which gives more control. I’m used to carrying the 18v version in my tool belt, and when I threw one of these in instead, I almost couldnt tell I was carrying it. The compact size of both really allows you to get into tight spaces you otherwise wouldn’t with an 18v.
Overall I was extremely impressed by this kit. Its similar to 18v power in a 12v form. I’d reccomend it to both tradesman and diy’er.

Small but powerful. Use it for cabinet work and random jobs around the house. Not over overpowering where it can damage something. Great tools!

So, I got tired of dragging my power lines across half an acre or so just to drill a few holes. Yeah, okay, had a battery drill some years back, battery always seemed to be drained when wanting to use etc. so did not expect much here.
However, shock and surprise! But maybe should not have been – being Bosch – should have expected only top quality – and that’s what showed up!
Very cool, super quality. Batteries last quite a while too and don’t lose their charge sitting. Very ergonomic and light weight. Fits right in the palm of my hand! Couldn’t believe the power behind the impact driver! Wow!
I would recommend this set – and the drill bit set too – to anyone that’s ever been frustrated with a “battery powered” drill or impact driver. It ain’t your uncle’s! Not no more!
Very sweet combo with carrying case and everything! I’ve used it a number of times now, and have been kicked by it – long battery life, power, and fits in my hand. Can’t ask for much more than that. Oh, a carrying case please! They got ya covered on that one too!

All I can say is I love this product the drills and everything worked great had it for a good while already about two years and I have no complaints.

I have this set. Like them so much bought them for my son. Great for tight areas and light weight. Also strong torque.

I’ve had this combo kit for 2 weeks now and they’re both fantastic tools. Considering they’re 12 volt they are very powerful and the impact driver has plenty of torque: I’ve driven 4″ x 10 screws into softwood without needing pilot holes.
Using 4Ah batteries makes a difference, I’d recommend buying a couple. I purchased a pair from a German company, they were great to deal with and had the best price I could find. The batteries are genuine Bosch but don’t have any individual packaging. This isn’t a problem registering the Bosch warranty.
Edit: I purchased the kit for £99 inclusive of delivery and taxes, now its over £140, I definitely got a bargain.

These are not the tools you want if you are building a deck. But they are plenty for the inevitable common jobs around the house. And they are also a lot lighter and easier to handle than the 18v tools with a giant brick of a battery attached to them.

I picked these up because I was being transitioned back into a field tech position at work and I needed a light weight driver. Previously my company had provided techs with 12v DeWalt drill drivers but after a change of management, I didn’t have that option available to me. I also wanted something compact because I’m often working on small equipment or in cramped spaces and would have trouble getting a full sized driver where I needed it to go. I tried power screwdrivers but they lacked the torque and speed I needed. A friend of mine who is a professional A/V installer carries the previous generation of the Bosch drill driver and I got a little hands-on time with it. I was very impressed with how light it was and yet how much power it packed. I went on Amazon and saw that Bosch had bumped the power specs and made other improvements so I knew I had to have one. Then I saw the 2 pack with the impact driver. Sold!
I’ve had the pair of them on the job for about a week now and I’m stoked on my purchase. I’m impressed with the life on the tiny lithium batteries. I got a week of moderate use out of the both of them on a single charge. I like the fact that they have battery indicators on them. That will prevent me from potentially going out in the field with a sagging battery. The 30 minute charger will ensure that I have a full charge with minimal notice.
Bosch makes two versions of the drill driver. I opted for this one because it’s got the traditional chuck so I wouldn’t have to get specialized drill bits, etc. The chuck is good. I’ve had no issues with slippage so far. The torque settings are good. 20 almost seems overkill. It’s got good torque by itself and has proven to be a solid high-speed drill, too.
I was a little skeptical about the power of the impact driver, having gotten used to having an 18v one at home but I discovered in testing that it’s got more than enough juice to rip the head off of some 7/16″ bolts. I’ve torqued numerous rusty bolts free of their moorings with ease. There’s a little bit of play in the clip-chuck but not a big beal IMO.
My only real wish is that they had bit holders on them. It’s nice to have someplace to clip that phillips-head when you switch to a drill bit or socket adapter. That’s not enough to make me take off a star, though.

I had the 12-year-old bosch 18V drill and hammer drill — plus the jigsaw. Very solid good equipment — and very heavy. Batteries finally truly gave out but it doesn’t owe me anything — and they look like they went through a war anyway.
This combo set is fabulous. The impact driver is amazing — plenty of power and both tools are so light you don’t even notice the battery. I’m super impressed and for a normal homeowner this kit is a great addition to the toolbox. The LED is really nice to have, and the drill has a great ratchet mechanism. I’m really pleased with this kit. I’ll add the 12V jigsaw soon too.
