This appliance is clearly very high-quality. I can’t stand cheaply-made noisy gadgets. This is quiet, powerful, built sturdy. Already tried it on shredding carrots (BEAUTIFUL, fast and consistent) and making some protein balls. Each task took way less time than expected. Cleanup was a cinch. I can echo what others have said about the white plastic disc getting stained (from carrots and beets), just wipe it with some vegetable oil before washing (don’t let it sit too long) and the stains come right off. I don’t intend to use the juicing attachment because I have a much better-designed juicer already. But for chopping, shredding, slicing, it’s a dream.

This is the best food processor. I owned a Braun food processor for over 30 years. Than I guess it had given me everything it had and died on me. I was so satisfied with my previous one, I decided to go with Braun again after reading lots and lots of reviews on many other quality brands. This new one is even better. It is lighter, quieter than my previous one. And all the tools that it comes with I find makes it the ideal food processor. If I had to do it all over again, I will definitely stick to Braun food processor. Excellent value for the money. You get what you pay for. I love this one !

I rarely use a food processor, but I do like to have one for certain jobs in the kitchen. When our 20+ year old Braun food processor packed it in (due to failure of plastic parts in the drive mechanism) we decided to stick with the same brand as the last one had lasted a long time.

I’ve used this new food processor maybe a dozen times in the time we’ve owned it. It was great for cutting butter into my favourite shortbread recipe BUT, when I used it to slice potatoes for scalloped potatoes I found it pathetic. The potatoes would slice and then jam between the lid and the coarse slicing insert in the insert carrier. This would happen repeatedly, requiring the lid to be removed, and the jammed slice of potato to be cleared, before starting again. Although I checked to ensure all parts were attached correctly and the correct speed was being used, the food processor really couldn’t handle the job of simply slicing potatoes. The jams inevitably caused the plastic drive mechanism to crack (see photos). The machine is now useless as the food processor bowl no longer seats into the motor block. Unfortunately, we are beyond the warranty period, so now we have a $330 piece of garbage to throw out. I’ll never buy Braun again.

I got this to replace a small (3.5 cup) KitchenAid that’s still going strong but is way too small for a lot of things I want to use it for. I did a lot of research before buying this and have used it almost daily in the last few months for a variety of tasks.

    What I like the best:

-The low profile design and lighter base means I can easily stash this on a bottom shelf without aggravating my bursitis. I was a little concerned that the lighter weight would mean the motor didn’t have enough giddyup, but it’s great. I love, love the size compared to similar capacity models.

-The variable speed really does make a difference in processing different foods well. When I first saw this model I thought it was unnecessary, but now I’m sold.

-The disk blades snap into a single plastic disk, so I don’t have to store six metal disks. And it comes with a blade guard for the standard S blade– this is the only brand I saw that had that.

-The arrows make it easy to align all the parts.

-It’s easy to switch parts/blades as you go. I used it for 8 ingredients for one recipe and was able to keep working at a good clip.

-It does beautifully on these foods (I’m forgetting a bunch I know but this gives the idea):
—Tomatoes and onions– chopped evenly without almost any juice!
—Cucumbers and potatoes– Nice even slices
—Cheeses– can handle hard and soft cheeses thanks to variable speed
—Garlic and herbs– smaller chopper does these very well. Quick and even.
—Pie crust. I used the pastry attachment to make an all-butter dough for individual pastries, and they turned out beautifully at the recommended speed– the pastry was very flaky and held its pinwheel shape.

    Downsides:

-At first I had trouble getting hard nuts (e.g. almonds) to a consistent size using the smaller chopper without basically turning them into dust. I did have better luck when I made sure to follow the max amount recommended (I think it’s 50 g), and I’ve found that slightly softer nuts (e.g. pecans) are easier to get to a uniform consistency.

-I love margaritas and had some hopes for the juicer despite seeing a video review saying it was mediocre. I rolled the limes beforehand and tried various things but was worried that sufficient pressure would burn out the motor, so I gave up and got a manual juicer that works like a garlic press. Not a big deal because it’s not why I bought the machine.

-As noted in other reviews, the instruction manual leaves a bit to be desired. Mine came with a very small (3″ x .5″) sticker with barely visible pictures of different foods and speeds, which is needed for some things they left out of the manual. It’s helpful but I can barely see some of the items with my glasses on.

    Final notes:
Another reviewer said that the box said parts are dishwasher safe whereas manual said to hand wash them. Both the box and manual I received say all parts are dishwasher safe. Also, I noticed that several reviewers had problems with the processor jumping around the counter. I haven’t had that problem at all, though I did with my old one.

We bought this to replace our 48 year old Braun Kitchen machine which still works quite well but is getting noisy and a couple of the attachments have cracked parts or are worn. That machine was a different design, with an elevated drive point to power slicers, blenders, etc. and a removable top arm to power mixers in bowls set on a base below it. The new version powers everything from a drive point just above the counter-top and is more compact and convenient. We also had a couple other “kitchen machines” from other well-known brands because we thought they might perform some functions (e.g., slicing/grating, or mixing heavy dough batters) better but none of them were as well designed and durable as the Braun. We have been using the new device with various attachments for about a month and find it works very well, smoothly and quietly. It is lighter then the old version with thinner plastic moldings and attachments and I doubt it will last 48 years like the old one did, but then I am CERTAIN that I will not last another 48 years.

This is a great food processor! It feels durable and sturdy. I can also confirm that it’s much quieter than its competitors, like it advertises. The motor is also pretty powerful. I first used this to prepare ingredients for a Mexican taco bowl. I had it chop peppers, dice onions, and shred cheese. I’ve also had a chance to shred carrots and chop potatoes, which the processor had no trouble doing.

A very small critique, though I love this appliance, is that I wish the manual contained more tips on preparation. I’m not a master with this tool by any means, so it took a few attempts to get food prepared as I desired when I first started out. I had to, alternatively, watch a couple YouTube videos to become acquainted, but no trouble at all.

I use this appliance for my everyday food prep at home and based on my experience so far, I recommend this processor to anyone.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I do read a lot as I plan on making purchases. This product definitely deserves a review. I have six children and used my old, trustworthy cusinart food processor almost daily for the last 12 years. As children have come, though, the food processor became too small. I was making mess after mess trying to process too much liquid or processing in rounds to get enough to feed my family. It was time to upgrade to a larger one. I search the larger cusinart and kitchen aide processors before settling on this Braun 12 cup. The main reason was the liquid max capacity. A 14 cup food processor from another brand still might only hold 5 cups of liquid before making a mess, but this one can hold 9. That’s a huge difference when talking about soup or sauce. It reduced the need to puree batches and allowed me to do it all at once. I have used the machine almost daily for two weeks and am in love for reasons I didn’t expect. It’s super quiet and doesn’t wake toddlers on Saturday mornings. The variable speed on the motor allows me to chop broccoli on a slow speed for chicken and rice casserole or puree it on a faster speed to hide the broccoli in potato soup. And you can turn the speed up and down to meet your needs while the processor is running. The blades aren’t disks so they take up less space and the small mixing bowl attachment allows me to process small amounts and get rid of my tiny processor. The juicer attachment isn’t as great as a hand-held, but it does the job fine. That lets me get rid of another thing in my kitchen taking up drawer space. It’s very easy to clean and unlike my trusty old Cusinart, doesn’t have little openings in the handle of the bowl that let food get trapped in and mold. And finally, yes, it really does process 9 cups of liquid without making a mess. That’s thanks to a wonderful design of the center spout that goes all the way to the top. This processor is perfect for my large family. I will have to purchase a coarse slicing blade soon, though, as it only comes with a fine one. That’s good for thin potatoes but doesn’t work for tomato slices or olives.

It does everything a food processor needs to do — chop, grate, slice, blend, mix, whisk etc — well. It is relatively quiet for a machine with a 600w motor, and the build quality is as solid as to be expected of a Braun appliance. Most of all, with the bowl and motor being side by side rather than one on top of the other, it is relatively compact, a big plus for a small apartment kitchen when it is on the countertop and in storage in a cupboard below. It would be nice if it came with a storage box for the attachments and accessories, but a plastic container is proving serviceable if a less neatly organised alternative. The variable speed took a bit of getting used to for someone brought up on/off/pulse food processors, but the more I get the hang of it, the more useful I find it to be. The machine is easy to clean, although the grating disc holder discoloured quite quickly, a minor niggle. I’d rate the machine a fair value at the list price and a really good value if you can buy one at a decent discount.
