Overall exactly as advertised. No issues for installation. Fan isn’t quiet or loud and minimal difference in function between the two speeds. Only issue is really a design dislike of not having a compartment versus cover for light.

Does exactly what its supposed to. For my small condo the suction is good enough, and it’s not too loud. I did buy a kit to turn it into a plug-in because it is a hard wired unit, but that was really easy to do and it probably took me 30 minutes total to convert and hang by myself.

painting the kitchen seemed like a good time to replace the hood, and this was in my price range. And it looks good, too. I needed something to match the stainless appliances. I put this in myself. My advice is to have a helper. DIY does not have to mean DIBY (do it by yourself — ha.) Mistakes were made, but nothing to justify getting a whole new unit. I don’t want to talk about it. See pics for before and after.

The Broan-Nutone 413004 range hood fits our needs perfectly. We bought this to replace an old undercabnet, hard-wired, fluorescent bulb unit that was probably installed in the 1970’s. Since we only do a modest amount of cooking on the range top there is no need for a fancy vent hood with a lot of fancy bells and whistles. We just need something that will vent the water vapor/steam and cooking smells and this basic, affordable unit does it all. It offers a 2-speed fan, which is super quiet, and a light as well. Once I prepared the underside of the cabinet to receive the unit, the actual installation took less than 30 minutes, including the wiring connections. This is a well-built and sturdy unit, looks great, and will likely serve our cooking needs for a long time. Well worth the price and I highly recommend.
