Seems to have the same chainring mount that the sram eagle is using, but I cannot swear to this as I don’t have one to compare to.
This direct mounting style does seem to have a weight benefit, it’s over 100g lighter than my traditional spider mount crankset of similar build.
The weight you see in this photo is the crankset, 32t chain ring, and the BB. everything in the kit.
The only thing I don’t like is the direct mount style limits the ability to align with the groupset.

so got this because I don’t like the way that the square tapered crank on my bike kept working it’s way loose constantly and thought that I would try something that is lighter in weight and smoother pedaling. This is both, and I would suspect that the bottom bracket on this is of much better quality than what came on the bike. I m happy with it, and with the weight and smoothness of the bearings and crank in general. I am not sure on the sturdiness of the attachment method on the cog to the crank. It screws onto the crank after fitting the cog onto it via a toothed fitting. The screws look pretty light duty to me and while i have not had them fail or anything, I am just not convinced that they will be tough enough to last. This is not a knock to this particular crank set so much as it is to the type of fitting method that is used. I will come back in six months and re-evaluate my trust level after a 1000 miles or so of trails.
Discover-It! –
I converted my Mountain Bike to a 1×8, and wanted a Crankset with a 32 tooth chainring…small enough for climbs in the granny gear, but just big enough (for my old legs) on the flats and downhills in the bigger gears. It is lighter than the two chainring crankset that came on the bike, and getting to remove the front derailleur lightened the bike even more. From the little riding I’ve been able to do since installing it, It seems to be well made. The crank arms are “chunky” looking, but are hollowed out on the back side so as to keep them lightweight. I haven’t detected any flex under my 225lbs, but I also don’t really stomp on the pedals. The Bottom Bracket is standard fare, and spins nicely. Time will tell how all of this holds up, but for now, I’m very happy with the performance for the price point.
HARLAN MOON –
The bottom bracket and axle adhere to the (Shimano) Hollowtech II standard, while the chainring is based on the SRAM GXP. This works, as both are compatible with other products of the same standard, but it’s a strange choice. The teeth on the chainring *appear* to be optimal for SRAM chains (Bucklos website didn’t have exact specs), so there’s consistency with the chainring at least.
I measured the chainline after installing it on a 2022 Spec’d Rockhopper and found it to be 55mm. This is limiting, as the chain is straight when on the third smallest sprocket (10s Deore) and very bent when on the largest sprocket; this will lead to premature chain wear and greater potential to break chains. As such, I would not install this on any QR setups. It will be compatible with *some* Boost setups (more like 12s). It should be fine with Superboost, but I doubt anyone sendy enough to use that wider standard would trust these cranks. Worse, the chainring is already at the maximum -6mm offset, so decreasing the chainline isn’t possible.
TLDR: They’re nice enough cranks, but the wide chainline greatly limits the compatibility. The mix of standards needlessly makes servicing more challenging.

These are very nice crankarms for the money, as far as I can tell. I can’t speak for the bottom bracket it actually includes quite yet since I already have my own bracket, but it also seems very smooth as well.
The crankarms themselves are very light and seem very strong, and should last a long time.

Bucklos is a well known budget, but quality bike parts brand in Amazon. There is a huge difference between budget for entry level enthusiasts compared to a big box store product, and this is definitely a step in the right direction for any serious enthusiast who is budget conscious.
The crank arms feel of excellent quality and are very smooth, i didn’t find a single imperfection anywhere, the chainring is CNC’d to perfection and i’ve been riding my bike on a daily basis now that it’s a little bit cooler here in the south and you can barely tell that it’s been used. It has the smoothest finish, i don’t know if its due to a clear coat but it’s almost smoother than the paint finish on my bike.
GXP is one of my favorite direct mounts and i already owned two oval chainrings (30T and a 32T) that i was using on a SRAM crankset on my previous bike that i recently sold, i purchased a new bike that came with a Deore crankset but it’s not direct mount, and i wanted to mount the Oval Chainrings on my new bike, installation was simple and trouble free.
These provide the advantage of losing weight in a rotational part, which is where you see the most advantage on every little bit of weight drop, awesome!
The bottom bracket is of decent quality and performs well, the rings are aluminum and the “core tube” is plastic, comes with 3 spacers to adjust to your boost or non-boost and different bottom bracket widths and configurations.
The threading for the pedals was smooth and clean, people often overlook how satisfying it is to put a little bit of grease and not having to crave or finish the last polish while forcing the pedals in, with this crankset they just went smooth.
Overall, installation was simple, it is a highly polished product on its three elements, the bottom bracket, crank and chainring, it competes in performance, but beats the big guys at SRAM and Shimano when it comes to value, recommended!
