Another Home run by the G-Shock team at Casio. Very comfortable, very lightweight, easy to set up with the help of a good YouTube video. I chose the color foam white and it looks amazing. Love the look of it on my wrist. The reason why I purchased this watch was to replace my Invicta, which felt like a brick on my wrist because it was 7 ounces, but this is very lightweight, durable, & reliable. Itโs gonna keep time very well. I love it on my wrist and this is what I will use as my field watch in the real estate world when Iโm out in the field so I donโt have to worry about it getting banged up.

Iโve always liked the gshock watch but this model is above and beyond for the price.

This watch is excellent and typical of the rock-solid G-Shock toughness that we have come to expect. I love the design and, aesthetically, the watch is amazing. The look, with the red camo with the dark camo watch face and black watch hands, is simply badass, especially with the negative digital display. This watch is larger than the standard G-Shock, which is a good thing.
However, one design decision has me scratching my head and limits the overall usefulness of the watch. Instead of the standard digital watch lighting method, where pressing the button lights up the digital display, this watch uses a single amber LED at the base of the face (the 6 o’clock position). When activated, the LED shines upward, lighting up the hands of the watch so you can see their position and tell the time. This is a great way to let you see the watch hands at night, and the LED is bright enough that, in a pitch black room, it can serve as a mini-flashlight if necessary (say, to find your glasses on the dresser). However, in anything but the darkest environments, the LED does a very poor job of lighting up the digital portions of the watch (which contains the date, day and seconds). This is problematic if you are trying to, say, use the stopwatch to run at night or work at night and need to refer to the date. I found that, in a very dark environment, and with a little manipulation, you can make out the information, but is a lot of effort just to make out the information. It would have been much better if the digital display had some light of its own.
Otherwise, I love this watch. The look is fantastic and I have received numerous positive comments about it. It is comfortable to wear all day and has all the durability and functions of a G-Shock. I am very happy with this purchase.

For the record and to preface this review, I am a devout Gen X’er. A little over a year ago I decided to try and disconnect as much as possible from the digital world and bring more analog elements into my life. When I was growing up, I used to dream of the technology we have today and now that we do, I find myself wanting to go back to those simpler times; the days when we called people to talk to them, read maps to get around, just rolled with the punches and packed ahead in case the weather changed from how it was when we walked out the door, and when we looked at a watch on our wrist to tell the time.
I have always loved the camo look ever since being a Cub and Boy Scout back in the ’80s and wanted a nice military-looking watch that was camo pattern and durable, but being a shorter dude at 5’8″ tall I didn’t want one that looked huge and gaudy on my wrist. For the first watch I have bought in decades, this Casio fits the bill nicely being durable, good-looking and works well without breaking the bank.
A friend had this exact watch in the Coyote Brown colour and I liked it so I purchased this one for myself. I bought it not only for the camo pattern but also for the analog hands and the amber LED light (it illuminates from the bottom and, thankfully, is not annoyingly bright). I am not concerned with the reverse digital display other than to set the watch and change features, but the one complaint I can see other people having with it is the display. They are NOT backlit the way other Casios like the Rangeman is, so unless you are in bright outdoor or indoor light conditions, the digital display can become hard to read at certain angles. In very low-light conditions indoors or out, it becomes almost blank.
The band fits nicely and has decent adjustment (I never found it to be too tight or too loose) and has been holding up well to being put on and taken off a few times each day. I know I have read other reviews where people have their bands crack or break under what is claimed to be “normal use”, but I have had zero issues. Much like anything these days, I think a lot of it has to do with just being careful and patient and taking those few extra seconds or so to slowly undo the band and move the clasp out of the way to take it off or put it on.
My dream/forever watch is a Mudmaster G-SHOCK GWG2000CR-1A and I plan to have one in my possession within the next year or so, but until I feel accomplished enough to spend almost $1.2K on a hardcore military-grade wristwatch, I am more than happy to enjoy this camo GA-100 XL watch in the interim. My only wish is that they would make it available again because from what I can tell, it is no longer available for sale in the camo pattern.

Great watch. But after 4 or 5 years, the strap becomes brittle. It’s falling apart.

Un buen reloj para todo momento. Se nota resistente. A pasado la prueba del agua sin problema

Very cool๏ผLove the blue color. Came with casio box and there is a cloth bag with watch inside. There is a user guide in different language and warranty card. There is a price label attach to the watch but can be easily removed. Perfect as gift๏ผ

To start off, I ordered this on a saturday evening, and received it via UPS on Tuesday around 7:00PM, and that was one-day shipping.
Anyways, the watch has some really cool functions, and looks amazing. I’ve owned $20 watches at Walmart/Meijer stores, Rolex, Omega, and I’ve recently been using an iPod Nano 6 with a white Nanotch(tm) watchband. The G-Shock has a white matte finish, and if you’re a student, or someone working at a cubicle and writes a lot, then it is a possibility that you could smear graphite (from the pencil or ink from pen) onto the watch, but you could wash it off with soap and water.
This watch is based off timezones to calculate the time, and it comes with a manual (timezones are at the last pages). The manual is in English, Spanish, and French I think b:
The hands move around based on what the digital display reads; you can turn on and off daylight saving time too. (Watch arrives in EST, NYC.) We all know that the watch is waterproof, shock-proof, anti-magnetic, so I don’t really need to say anything an those topics. You can change the backlight duration from 1.5sec – 3 sec, and it is pretty cool. There’s military time (24HR digital display) and the normal time (12HR) with a little PM that is in the top left corner of the left display, when it’s the afternoon. It has a really accurate stopwatch, with laps and a split. (Great for running and you don’t have to be worried when it rains, unless you have your phone) There’s a timer, which for some reason, only goes up to 24 minutes… you can adjust the duration. (You can set it to one time run/alarm, or a constant loop until you turn it off).
There are 26 world times; I have mine to London, and it works GREAT. (Takes like 2 seconds to calculate but I’m fine with that) It has 4 alarms; you press reverse or forward to stop them, a snooze (Like a wake-up alarm) and you press either reverse or forward to snooze it. Will come back on in like 3 mins, but you have to turn it off and on again to stop it.)
There’s an option to turn on hourly chime which beeps twice at every hour. You press reverse to turn on the backlight, and hold it down for 3 seconds to enable the auto-light when you tilt the watch 45ยฐ. The left circle on the upper half of the watch displays whether snooze, alarm, auto-light, or hourly chime is on. The middle has something to do with the stopwatch, you can see some accuracy in the timing (I guess xD) and the right circle… This I’m clueless on, but I think it also has to do with the stopwatch and stuff :).
The hour nobs are “glow-in-the-dark”, and, unfortunately, the hands don’t have an illuminating tab on them. The lower left display shows the time in digital form, press forward and it shows the date. The bottom right screen shows the day (eg: Mon as in Monday) and below it is the seconds. (Btw the hands are SUPER precise when they point at the little lines like for example, it is 1:00 or 13:00. The hands point exactly where they should be, and when the seconds reach around 30 seconds, the minute hand moves a tiny notch! Then, when it’s 1:01 or 13:01, it points normally.) The contrast on this watch is really nice; I’ve gotten tons of compliments… some of my friends are even jealous! This is my first G-Shock and I’m not disappointed! I LOVE the double-clasp band, doesn’t seem like it will come loose, the buttons have a nice texture, and I learned how to operate this watch in about 5 minutes (I was CLUELESS when I first got it, lol) The manual helps, and I HOPE my review helped you too! Relatively fast shipping, great watch, beast looks, best $100 I spent! This watch is part of the Japan Movement, and is housed/cased in China (I don’t care where it was manufactured :D) and I’m simply just impressed… the dial is pretty big, and it it looks beautiful. If you have any questions please ask! I will hopefully respond quickly ๐
UPDATE NOVEMBER 2013: After using this watch for more than a year (Sept 29, 2012) I can say it’s still working fine! Battery life is (supposedly) 2 years… I don’t have any battery problems with mine! However, the paint is starting a chip slightly. I’ve gone snorkeling/scuba diving, dropped it many times off high places, FROZE MY WATCH, and many more rigorous tests… this thing is a tank! Some dirt and grime is starting to build up around the strap; it has a slight brown tint from my use. I don’t use auto-light at all really, and the snooze is somewhat quiet… so don’t use this as a primary alarm clock!
I love the stopwatch. It’s so freaking usefull and goes to the thousandths of a second! (ex: 12.345 seconds) Hopefully I will post a picture on this page to show what it looks like after all this time!

I was thinking of purchasing this watch from many days, finally managed to do it.
Looks very stylish, durable and versatile.
But the display brightness seems to be little on the lower side.
Size of the watch is also great for me. Its big in the wrist.
