A lot of people say this tastes bad, but it doesn’t to me. It’s not sweet or chocolatey for sure, but I mix two scoops with water twice per day on average and have no issues with it. Good, clean protein as far as I can tell and a lot cheaper than many other options out there. I also like the size – 7 pounds lasts me about a month.

I’m on my second tub. I love the protein content and the value. It tastes fine to me as is. Sometimes I’ll throw in some sugar free chocolate syrup in my shake to change it up.
Overall I’m happy and I’ll keep buying it 🙂

Tastes just fine and the value is very good considering the quantity. However, there is way too much salt in this and that is unnessecary. I only use 1/2 a scoop because of this. If anyone from the company is reading this, PLEASE lower the salt quantity! It is unnecessary.

I’ve ordered this product in its 7 lb. container from Carlyle 6 times in the past year or two. It has always had a pleasant, neutral taste to blend in smoothies and I always buy an extra container to have on hand when I finish an old one. The container I purchased on March 11, 2024 and opened this morning is simply AWFUL. The flavor is RANK. I used to ride horses and work in horse barns and it smells like horse manure and tastes so strongly I can barely swallow it. What did you do to this product??? It was so good. I’ve tried many pea protein brands and some have a stronger flavor than others, and batches vary, but this is by far the worst I have ever purchased from anyone. Don’t you have testers for this stuff? I’ll be changing brands now as I can’t return this garbage. So disappointed. Get some quality control.

This stuff has a pretty bad taste but it’s much more tolerable than the majority of the flavorless options. It also is such a great deal considering its vegetarian and you get high grams of protein and the container is massive so it lasts forever.
Big Chungus –
I’m gonna give this 5 stars, but to be completely clear – the unflavored version doesn’t exactly dance on your taste buds. It’s got an earthy, nutty pea protein taste that even the sweetest of sweeteners can’t fully disguise. Not my favorite, might I say.
But let’s talk about why I’m still a fan. This stuff is no joke when it comes to packing in the protein. We’re talking 29 grams per scoop, which has been a big help for me in adding some extra protein into my diet post-workout. I’ve been keen on trying alternatives to whey protein, and this has done the job nicely.
Quality-wise, I’m impressed. It feels like good stuff, and for the price? It’s a steal. You just aren’t gonna find a better bang for your buck if you’re looking for a protein supplement.
In the future, I’m thinking of mixing this with some whey protein powder to take the edge off the flavor. But all in all, if you can handle a bit of a strong taste, this pea protein powder is a top-notch pick for quality and value.
CheesyNacho –
I like that its a good price for the volume. It serves its purpose as a protein supplement and is low carb without any whey, which is what I was looking for. It is unflavored and unsweetened, which is also what I wanted. The think is that it is very chalky and tastes terrible. When I add fruit alone, it’s not enough. It really needs a sweetener like Stevia to make it palatable, but it’s still got that chalky texture. Also, it clumps up if you leave it sit too long, like while I’m working at my desk. You need to plan to drink it right away and focus on that. I won’t buy this again and I have a lot to use, unfortunately. Not sure I’ll finish the container.

I can’t do whey proteins so this is a great option. I’ve tried other vegan protein. Super expensive ones as well as naked pea. This one is the best. It’s versatile being unflavored. I mix it with soy milk for added protein and add in some sugar free creamer to flavor it. This is the best bang for your buck in my opinion. Sure the flavor isn’t the best. But there’s only one ingredient and you get 7 pounds of it. Also 29 grams of protein per serving. That’s hard to find with a vegan protein. Macros are great. Only thing I don’t quite like is the sodium content. It’s not astronomical but would be a bonus if it was less. The scoop is conveniently on the top but the tub is filled to the brim. Lol. All in all a great value. Will be buying this again for sure!
