We live in a large apt complex and not allowed bbq grills for fire safety reasons. We really missed grilling our steaks! Finally decided to look around for alternatives and found this. We love it, you get the grilled flavor, it’s small and portable, easy to clean and we can use it should hurricane season knock our power out. Highly recommend!

Perfect size for a portable grill & with one hand carry as compared to others. Very reasonable price.
Should work well.

Amazing camping grill. It lives in the back of my camper van. I have bought it to replace the exact same grill… because I have misplaced the regulator and could not find a compatible replacement. There is nothing else comparable in size, weight and overall performance. Compact, light weight, great temperature control.
Only thing that would be nice if improved is the lock used for the lid during travel.
Otherwise love it and strongly recommend

The good thing about amazon reviews is that you get a range of opinions on something and then have to decide for yourself if it’s worth trying. And if you don’t like it, back it goes. That’s what I did with this grill, and the answer is a 100% thumbs down.
The form factor is very appealing. We’re moving from travel trailers to a camper van, so every cubic inch of space is important. We love our Weber Q, but even the smallest Q is too big. This seemed like the ideal solution.
I’m not going to restate all the negatives you can read in the other reviews. Just believe that this thing is absolutely as bad as they say, and even worse.
1) Heat control. There is none. There is full on, and when you set it to low, it’s still full on. I cooked some bubba burgers and rolls on the first cook. The rolls instantly burned, even on low. The burgers had to be continuously flipped to keep from burning. These burgers drip a lot of fat, and that fat was continuously catching fire in the drip tray.
2) Drip tray. This thing is nothing short of dangerous. It’s tough to get out, and tough to get back in. Even worse, all the reviews talking bout sharp metal edges? Yup, so easy to cut your self. And you really have to remove this thing to clean it.
3) Too hot to handle. This thing gets so hot with the lid down, you cannot open it using the lid handle. You need something like an oven mitt because it’s too hot to touch. Oh yea, when you flip the lid open, the grill tends to want to tip over backwards, possibly spilling all that lovely grease in the drip tray and possibly causing a fire.
I’m going to stop here, but if you decide to try this out for yourself, just be aware it can be dangerous. I don’t even see how this is usable. Possibly I got a defective gas gas valve with no adjustment control, but from other reviews I don’t think that’s the case.
Bottom line: Coleman should be ashamed of itself for selling this poorly designed, dangerous product. For $100 this is the worst stamped metal piece of junk I think I’ve ever used. Also, Amazon should consider stopping distributing this thing. It is horrible and dangerous.

Compact, but can feed 2-4 people. The lid is not well fit when it folds so the latch does not work, but this is a minor issue for me. I also like that it can be taken apart to wash in a sink or dishwasher.

There are some shortcomings to this little bbq, but its portability and ease of use far outweigh it. I find that even on the lowest setting, the grill tends to be pretty hot, so things need to be flipped often or else things will burn. I’m still not 100% sure if I should be even closing it. Its not the easiest to clean, and if you dont at least wipe down the grease tray between use, it can and will catch on fire. It is super portable, sets up in a snap, lights up on the first click, cooks pretty evenly considering it does burn a little on the hot side. Considering the cheap portable bbqs that used to cost no more then 30 to 40 bucks, now cost around $100 or more, this unit is pretty good.

Very compact in design, heats quickly, cooks evenly and quickly. Very portable, and doesn’t use a lot of fuel to cook a meal. Has enough room for fix or six burgers, eight drumsticks. I recommend lining the aluminum pan with foil for super easy clean up. The grill itself is non-stick and cleans up easily, even after cooling completely. Great for camping and small gatherings on the back patio.

This will be a very good, small portable grill for the two of us to use with our RV. It did however come damaged. There is an inch sized piece of the red enamel paint chipped off by one of the hinges. That said I am not returning the grill due to the hassle. I am a disappointed that this wasn’t caught before shipping. New is supposed to be new. Hoping the chip does not get larger with heating and cooling. We will see.
Happy customer –
Comodidad para ser utilizada de fácil limpieza y muy practica para cocinar para una o dos personas
Happy customer –
it’s a good little 1-2 person travel BBQ, when paired with the carry bag makes a nice clean and easily transportable unit. The only downside, it’s about double the cost it should be.
Robert Mccormick –
This little bbq is the perfect size for compact spaces. It is small enough to fit in our truck camper storage yet large enough to easily fit whatever we are cooking. (Great for a couple or small family) the security latch is the only thing that is very poorly constructed. It is really quite useless so we just sewed an elastic cord to fit snuggly around it for transport. Other than that this is constructed well, fairly heavy duty materieals and works as it should

Living in a condo with storage space at a premium, we needed something compact but fully functional. After reading the reviews, we decided this grill was exactly what we needed. It has a surprisingly large grilling area, very adequate for cooking for a couple or small family. Assembly was minimal (screw on legs), the propane line connection snapped into place easily, it started on the first click and almost immediately I could feel the heat rolling out. I grilled chicken and never set it past Medium heat, which was very adequate. I loved the fact that unlike the other portable tabletop by Coleman, this has a lid that is domed to be able to cook in true grill-like fashion with the lid closed for faster cooking. The chicken cooked quickly, had nice sear marks on each side and was juicy and delicious. A great trial for this little grill!
I appreciate the fact that the bottom drip pan is designed to come out for easy cleaning. The grill and drip pan fit in a kitchen sink for soaking or washing. Because of another review with a dire warning about the extremely sharp edges on the drip pan, I was very concerned and that was the first thing I checked as I inspected the grill. I carefully looked at the edges and even ran my finger all the way around the edge, fully intending to use my rotary grinder to dull them down if they were sharp enough to cause concern. I could find nothing that I felt would be problematic. The drip pan and grill cleaned easily. Also, addressing another issue that was brought up in the reviews, if you leave the grill attached to the propane tank, it will not tip over backwards when you remove the grill and drip pan for cleaning.
Others have complained about the latch. Perhaps theirs needs minor adjusting. When I close the grill and latch it, it stays closed. I walked around holding it by the handle and it did not come open. I even sat it on end and rattled it back and forth trying to get it to pop open and the latch stayed closed.
I’m impressed with the fact that everything needed for grilling (except the propane tank) fits comfortably inside the grill resulting in a wonderfully compact package with a very small footprint when stood on end. Based on the suggestion in other reviews, I have ordered the carrying case, but only so I will have a convenient way to store and carry 2 tanks with the grill. Otherwise, it’s so well designed and handy it really wouldn’t be necessary.
Bottom line is that I am very impressed. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design of this little beauty. The workmanship is good, what I would expect from Coleman. It functioned perfectly on the first try out of the box. It is lightweight, easy to carry and small enough to easily tuck away in a trunk, corner of a closet or even in a kitchen cabinet. I couldn’t be happier with my choice, for our purpose it is as close to perfect as I could hope to find.
UPDATE: After almost 2 years, I had a problem arise with the handle. The heat from frequent grilling caused a part on the handle to disintegrate, resulting in the handle coming off. The grill was at the end of the 2 year Warranty period, so I contacted Coleman, explained the problem and asked for a new handle and insulating washer to fix it. To my surprise, after I provided pictures showing the problem area, Coleman replaced it with a BRAND NEW GRILL! I am extremely impressed with their customer service department and their warranty service. This is definitely a company that stands behind their products. I would not hesitate to recommend this grill to anyone!
