The clever design allows for additional features regarding ease of set up, tear down, storage and actual use. But, be sure to read the instructions and take care with your investment in the beginning because it is different than many other tents regarding how to set it up. They did sew the instructions right into the bag. A few negatives to expect: You can’t change the vents from the inside and there are no windows. If you want an open feel you either open the front of the fly all the way or you take it off. However, the shape is great for 3 sleepers and their bags. There are many loops inside to hang flashlights from the ceiling. The porch area is about a third the size of the tent allowing for a great mud room area for sandy shoes, wash cloth baths with a bucket and even your tent potty, all outside of the tent floor. We just camped for a week at the beach. We didn’t even close the tent door at night, only the fly. Also, the front of the fly has 2 zippers, 3 panels and 2 ties allowing for many different options for opening the fly or keeping it open. The front space is also big enough for a 5 year old to have alone time while not on the beds etc.

I am very pleased with this tent. I found it easy to set up with two people; however, I have set this up on my own. I usually use it for two people because we use cots and a small table to set up inside. You can set up the front of the tent in porch mode using two telescopic poles. In the rain, it held up really well and no leaks. There is no vent to get a decent air flow when you put on the fly. So, what I did was to use a couple of small poles to raise the back of the tent about a foot off the ground. I wish there was a couple of flaps to pull down on the fly for ventilation.

First off, I got this tent because it had great reviews and I don’t regret it!! I’ve been camping for 3 weeks and I came across strong winds, lots and lots of rain and heavy at times and not a drop of water inside. I also made like an awning with the porch door because I keep my window open and I can see. The porch is huge and nothing gets wet under it. I have a queen size air mattress, a little side table and porta potty and i still have lots of room to move around. I also love how big the door is and lots of storage. I recommend this tent 1000%, it is waterproof like described. If for some reason you have a leak its because its defective. I would definitely by this one again.

I’ve been camping on and off for the last 40 years. I’ve owned many different tents, so I know what I like and don’t like. I wanted a 4-person tent (for 2-people of course) and I have had good luck over the years with Coleman camping equipment. I first looked at the Sundome and rejected it because the ceiling is just too low. I prefer getting dressed standing up and the Sundome is too low to allow that. Next I looked at the Skydome tent. The center is 4’8″ inches so if I lean my head over, I can get dressed standing up. Then I discovered the Skydome with Full Fly Vestibule. For forty dollars more than the regular Skydome, you get almost 50% more space. Also, the fly comes within a foot of the ground all the way around the tent. That has to make it more rain proof than the standard Skydome. With the attached shock-corded poles and clips, setup only takes a few minutes. With 8′ x 7′ of space inside the main tent and another 8′ x 3.5′ in the vestibule, the Coleman Skydome with Full Fly Vestibule gives you a lot of tent for your money.
UPDATE: So I took this tent camping for three days in Jefferson National Forest. The first night it rained hard for almost an hour. The tent did NOT leak. Yea. The attached picture shows the modifications I made to the tent. Added two poles in the front to create a canopy and added a nylon webbing loop at the bottom center of the left and right sides of the fly. Added shock-cord so that the fly can be held away from the tent on the sides. The back of the fly already has the nylon webbing loop.
UPDATE 2: When I bought this tent it was one hundred and thirty nine dollars. The current price is almost twice that. I don’t know what happened. Not sure it is worth its current price.

It is big this is what we need, lots of space. Very excited to use it.

Great tent! It was easy to set up solo. Easy to take down solo. And, it was roomy on the inside and I love the covered patio area.
I love the clips for the poles versus the sleeve on many other Coleman tents I have.

The tent is nice and big, good for family camping. But if you’re using I. The warmer months, it doesn’t vent at all. It gets hot and holds the heat. I would not recommend this tent unless you are using in cool, rainy weather.

I am a middle aged woman who has hiked the entire appalachian trail and worked for professional trail crews. I bought this tent because I need a beater to live out of for a week or two per year, car camping style so comfort is key. Durability is bonus and I cannot tolerate gear that leaks when it rains.
Coleman does not seam seal their bathtub style floors so just know how to pitch this thing so that water doesn’t come in above that seam and you’ll be fine. I’d seal the seam myself but I don’t need to because unless there’s some kind of deluge or hurricane, the fly is long enough to cover that part. People who buy the shorter fly version – you might want to consider some paint on silicone seam sealer to pre-treat as an insurance policy.
Here’s the weird design flaw – there’s no way to stake out the sidewalls of the rain fly. I like that the mesh provides a lot of ventilation for this tent but without staking the fly out to the sides a bit, it just sits there flush with the mesh wall. No ventilation. I had some tarp grabbers (sometimes called “tarp clips”) to add a guy line to the bottom of the fly on the sides and it worked great. Coleman, fix your ventilation problem with this one weird trick!

This tent isn’t that great for ventilation. The two side window props don’t really do much. I still have to keep the front fly open and unzip any additional coverings to try and get some fresh air.
Perhaps not suited for the super hot summers but bigger ventilation holes from the fly would have really complimented this tent.
Overall, very lovely beautiful tent. Easy to set up .. but lack of ventilation really keeps it from receiving full 5 stars.

I liked the design of rain fly that has vestibule and it covers all the whole tent it serve the purpose that I want for winter camping. This is 2 person tent so is big inside for 1 person, so for my used I can put table and chairs inside or in vestibule.Speaking of vestibule this is one of the reason why I bought this to have cover on my head during snowy day or rain still enjoying the view opening up the vestibule you can seat under the vestibule and cook. The pole is connected to the tent is not removable I think for me is good thing for easy set up. Missing tent pegs and stakes maybe because I bought this used but the tent itself is not been opened no dirt or anything. How I wish has a lesser amount of mesh at least half of it covered for heat retention. No condensation because of mesh all over the tent thats why it is hard to retain the heat. Maybe good for summer? For my intention use over all I am happy with this tent.

Facile à monter et demonter. Grandeur parfaite pour 2 personnes.

Went primitive camping shortly after purchasing and fell in love with this tent! I was able to set it up ALONE on top of a bluff in the wind (used the wind to my advantage). Not sure about all the complaints with the attached poles, it actually worked out great for me camping by myself. I had familiarized myself with setup before the trip, only the tent.. not the rainfly. 3 minutes to get the tent up, but took about 15 minutes for the fly waiting on the wind to blow the way I needed it lol I did use AFTERMARKET HEAVY DUTY STAKES, no way the stakes that come with it would have survived that hard of ground. I tested one and it bent right away. The only negative I have. Once setup, I had some major gusts at the top of the bluff but tent stayed in place all weekend. Loved the little porch area and the fly kept me shaded in the heat but still airy! I’ll update review if I run into rain this year and of the inside. It was spacious and I loved the pockets, just forgot take pics of inside. I’m 5’9″ and was able to change by hunching over a little…way more space than I normally work with!
