I’ve got several different red light therapy belts and other devices. Some are not so great, some are wonderful. This is one of the good ones. I’ve used them on my arthritic knees and it does help with the pain.
Red light therapy is the pain relief of the 21st century. If you’ve heard about it but not sure what it is, research it. Red light and infrared light help with pain, facilitate wound healing, used for facial aging, can even facilitate hair growth.
This red light therapy is for meant for neck or shoulder pain. It goes on like a cape and fastens in the front with Velcro. Although it’s designed for back and neck use, you could actually use this cape on any body part you want to use RLT on just by draping the cape over the area, such as knees, legs or arms.
Red light therapy wraps don’t feel hot like a regular heating pad does. It works on a different concept. Be sure to wear safety glasses while using red light therapy devices and don’t look directly at the lights as they can damage your eyes. You might not need protective glasses with this shoulder wrap but don’t look at the lights. Continued and regular use of this cape will definitely help your shoulder and neck pain.
This wrap uses both red light and infrared to help with pain far more and far deeper than a heating pad. It just doesn’t heat the surface but penetrates deep into the muscles and joints. This belt is soft, pliable and has multi-levels of light. It also has a pulse mode which penetrates even deeper.
It comes with a USB cable and will need to be plugged in while you’re using it. If you have back or neck pain or you have a loved one who does, this would be a wonderful device to help. Give as a gift to help your loved one with their pain.

I can’t tell how much it really helps. I get some temporary relief, but maybe my back is too screwed up to get long term benefits

Having dealt with a stiff neck and occasional arm aches from it for a long time I was intrigued–but skeptical–about a light-based device being able to help. I run a lot, which means lots of head bobbing/neck muscle work, in addition to staring at a screen a lot for work. Both do a number on my neck.
So far I do feel like the wrap has been effective. The first time I used it I had a very stiff neck and arm pain. I sat upright, which aggravated it, but after finishing the 20-minute session I felt better, particularly my left arm. On subsequent uses, I mostly just had a stiff neck. It seemed to help a little, though seemingly not as much as when I was in more pain.
The “vest” is a little awkward to use initially, including the neck opening, which seemed to be too small for me because of how rigid the rest of it was. Once I got used to it, though, it has become second nature.
The plastic inside layer does stick to my skin, which makes sense since it’s applying a little heat, but it doesn’t bother me since that helps it to stay in place. That said, you have to use it with your shirt off, so despite what the description says, I’m not sure how suitable it is for an office (unless you work from home)!
Overall, I think it’s up to personal preference, but I have a favorable opinion on the vest and enjoy having it as part of my recovery regimen.

I am a big fan of red light therapy and this shoulder/neck device works well on those areas. It is super lightweight yet effective. Just plug it in and let it work. I would definitely consider purchasing other Comfytemp red light devices in the future.

Item Reviewed: Comfytemp Red Light Therapy Device, Infrared Light Therapy pad for Neck Shoulder Upper Back Pain Relief, Near Infrared Ligh Therapy Wrap with Pulse & Timer, One Peice & 630nm, Great for Home, Office

I am a BIG fan of using red light therapy for pain management and have tried many back belts and even red light lamps in an effort to reduce inflammation and feel better. Until now, I have had almost no success finding a way to get the benefits to my neck and shoulders because of the curves.

I have several devices from Comfytemp and I trust their products. This neck and shoulder wrap, though, is simply the best thing I’ve tried so far. While it can take months for most people to notice any changes, I am receptive enough to feel better each time I use it. This may simply be because I’ve been using RLT consistently for many months already. This just allows me to target a new area I desperately needed.

You have to do some research to determine if red light therapy is right for you. I was very skeptical and leery of many of the claims made on some products (and I still am on some of them, if I’m being honest). But it can definitely have a place for some people. Even my dog gets daily treatments on her hips with her own device and it’s made a noticeable difference in her back legs shaking due to a back problem.

I would definitely recommend this product as long as you are aware that results will probably not be immediate and that you must be consistent with using it.
