In the realm of portable productivity tools, the Cooper Nomad Travel Keyboard with Trackpad shines brightly as a gem among a sea of options. I was in search of a reliable portable keyboard that offered a great touchpad and the versatility to work seamlessly with any style of device. Its lightweight and compact design make it effortless to slip into my bag alongside my devices, ensuring that I can set up my mobile workstation in a flash wherever I go.
One of the standout features of this keyboard is its ability to swiftly switch between device controls, allowing me to effortlessly shift focus from my tablet to my smartphone without missing a beat. The impressive battery life has been a lifesaver during long workdays, providing me with a reliable source of power without the need for constant recharging. In my first month of using this keyboard, I have encountered no significant issues with either the touchpad or keys. (I will provide an update if things change.)
On the downside, there are a couple of areas where the Cooper Nomad could see improvement. I often find myself wishing for the ability to independently turn on or off the keyboard and touchpad, catering to moments when only one function is required. Additionally, the design flaw of the keyboard flipping rather than sliding exposes the keys at all times, leaving them vulnerable during transport. These minor inconveniences aside, the Cooper Nomad Travel Keyboard with Trackpad remains a valuable asset for those seeking a portable and efficient typing solution for their dynamic work environments.

This keyboard is lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry in a backpack or laptop bag. It features a built-in trackpad, which is a great addition for those who prefer not to carry a separate mouse. The keyboard offers both Bluetooth and USB connectivity options, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices, including tablets, smartphones, and laptops. Additionally, it boasts impressive battery life and sturdy build quality, providing good tactile feedback for comfortable typing. I use it both for my work laptop (MacBook) and personal (Windows).
However, there are a few drawbacks. The trackpad, while useful, is relatively small and may not be as comfortable to use for extended periods, especially for users with larger hands. The compact design means the keys are slightly smaller and closer together than a standard keyboard, which can take some getting used to and might not be suitable for long typing sessions. The keyboard is priced higher than some other portable keyboards on the market, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious buyers. Lastly, the lack of backlit keys can be a downside for those who often work in low-light environments. I will also have to say that all functions of the trackpad does work for MacBook (e.g., utilizing three finger swipe up for to navigating windows). Despite these issues, it’s a solid choice for travelers and remote workers needing a reliable and portable keyboard solution.
I’ve included a size reference pic. I’m a 5’1 woman.

Itโs a good product. It works well and connects easily to my iPad.
Unfortunately, I do have a few negatives on it, although these are not deal breakers for me.
It would be nice to be able to use it on my lap however with the touchpad it can fold out as shown on the photo or fold backwards when not in use underneath the keyboard.
The problem is the hinge does not have a locking position meaning unless using on a desk the touchpad will not stay in the desired position so when using on your lap the touchpad falls down in the space between your legs.
The other slight negative for me is the fact that the keyboard is not backlit, yes, I knew this before ordering but it would be a nice feature to have.
Other than those two slight negatives, it is a good product and I would recommend it.

This firstly and foremost is a nice keyboard to use. The buttons are slim, so obviously not going to be as responsive as a mechanical keyboard, as no slim keyboards are or could ever be, there just isn’t enough available travel. This however is high enough quality to be useable, the keypresses give a little pop, which adds to the feedback that the key has registered, which is handy for fast typers. The trackpad is functional but not a stand out feature. It just feels like a usual cheaper laptops pad, which in all fairness it probably is. But it works as you expect. Connecting is simple, as it connects via bluetooth and remains paired so each time you turn it on, it just works instantly. The casing is simple and perfectly adequate, with the keyboard making up the base and the stand folding to make the top cover. It’s quite a clever design.
My only downside to this is the lack of adjustment to the screen angle, but the set angle is ok. Just be aware you cannot adjust at all.
Overall I find this to be a pleasant product to use and as such I would recommend as the price seems reasonable too, this adds to my reason for the 5 stars. I’m fairly sure most people would find this ideal for travelling, as it’s slim and you can charge before travelling and use for many hours before it needs another charge (usb-c) and is nice and slim and stows nicely into a tablet pouch.

This is a really good portable keyboard to transform my pixel fold into a small laptop like experience. The keys are nice and responsive and feel as good as most laptop keyboards.t doesn’t have much flex and feel very good while typing. The mousepad works very well also but I do wish it would lock into place. This definitely isn’t a lap friendly keyboard but it does work great on a desk or table.

This works great with my iPad and iPhone. The hotkeys work quite well, I just have to press fn + esc to get back to Home on Apple devices. I love that above the regular backspace key is a โdeleteโ key which works to delete whatever is to the right of the cursor while typing. That’s a key I wish was on Appleโs regular Magic Keyboard. Also, this keyboard somehow doesnโt drain my iPadโs battery like the Magic keyboards. There is something about the Magic Keyboard that drains my devices super fast, and I can use my iPad a lot longer with this keyboard. So this is exactly what I am looking for when away from an outlet! I like that itโs so compact and has a built-in cover. The cover can be folded to use as a stand for devices, although itโs not strong enough to support my iPad 10.5โโ Pro, but itโs perfect with my phone (which is fine, since my iPadโs case has itโs own built-in stand). The mousepad works surprisingly well, although if I know Iโm mainly going to be typing, I stow it because my thumbs tend to touch it ever so slightly which leads to errors, like suddenly selecting a few lines of text and replacing it with my next keystroke. But itโs never caused any trouble that the undo button canโt fix. Almost all of the time, this keyboard reconnects perfectly with the iPad as soon as I turn the keyboard back on. When first pairing the keyboard, it is called โcopper nomad BT 1.โ Overall I am very happy with this keyboard.

The functionality promised a lot, but I was a little skeptical of it delivering. However this addition to the iPad is brilliant. The keyboard isn’t the best for typing long pieces, it lacks a little feedback, but let’s be honest that’s not what you buy an iPad for normally, so this isn’t a great loss. Having said that the keyboard works and for the normally activities of browsing and emails is more than adequate.
The real stars are the trackpad and the stand and it’s overall design.
The stand doubles as a cover and it will detach from the keyboard so you can place the screen away or raise it up on a monitor stand etc. There is a rail that holds the screen and also used to fix in place to the keyboard. The stand is supported by pushing the centre piece down, a really compact and clever design in all ways.
The trackpad, although small offers the use of the gestures and thus mimics the touch screen capabilities away from the screen. It also produced a small ‘cursor’ onscreen when using as a trackpad which mimic the use of a mouse and cursor.
Finally, the keyboard is marked up for Windows and Mac devices and can connect to 3 different devices. Switching is via a hot-key combo, thus adding great flexibility.
Far from a sceptic now and think this is great value for what is provided.

This is a great little packable Bluetooth keyboard to make a tablet more laptop-like. The touchpad is a novel feature and what caught my attention – I’ve used Bluetooth keyboards before but never gotten into removing my hand from the keyboard to reach up and touch the tablet screen.
The build quality of this is pretty good. The plastic has a nice satin finish feel to it. The keys, although low profile like a laptop keyboard, have a little bit of sound to them. There is a slight hollowness to the keyboard but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
The detachable cover is smartly designed, with a flap that folds like origami and sticks with a magnet to become the tablet stand. To me it’s a better solution than a keyboard like the Logitech bluetooth keyboard that has a little slot for the device to sit in.
The touchpad is okay. It’s not the earthshaking difference maker I thought it would be, but it is nice to have the touchpad right under my thumbs like a regular laptop. The quality of it feels like a very inexpensive laptop touchpad, but it functions well enough. It is neat to have a touchpad via Bluetooth.
Overall this makes for a very useable minimal setup for traveling light with just a tablet and this keyboard setup.

I am really impressed with this keyboard.
The keyboard is supplied with a USB C charging cable.
The keyboard itself is a compact keyboard with wide keys, and although it has a bit of a chicket look, the gap between keys is fairly small. There is a fold out trackpad that folds into the underside of the keyboard, and the keyboard cover folds up to act as a tablet stand. This makes the keyboard ideal to use with tablets and phones, but it also works brilliantly with desktop and laptop computers.
In use I found the keyboard generally good to type on, although there is a slight ridge on the base of the keyboard that may take a bit of getting used to if you have good typing habits and use your thumbs for space. I dont, so I didn’t notice this at first… The key travel is low, but the keys have a nice level of tactile response, so you can feel when the key is pressed. The keyboard makes minimal noise so should not disturb those around you.
The trackpad is nice and responsive, but I did find that it got in the way a little when I was using the keyboard to type on. As such, I personally would fold the touchpad a way unless I especially needed it. When I did use it though, the experience was positive.
Setup was easy. The device can be paired with three devices via Bluetooth, and the pairing experience was intuitive and easy. I just long pressed the Fn and number key for that device slot to be put into pairing mode, and a short press of Fn and a number key set the keyboard to that device.
I was a little concerned that the device was set up as a US keyboard, and although this is true, the UK layout is catered for with some of the keys having labels in a black box on the key. These are the UK layout symbols for the key, so I dont have to keep track of which key is which on the device. The keyboard also makes the pipe and backslash keys easily accessible (great if you have to manually type in network stuff) which is something a lot of small keyboards overlook.
Overall, this is a great version of the compact wireless keyboard and works brilliantly for those times when you need an external keyboard on a laptop, want to use it with a tablet or are working with very small amounts of desk space.
