my on board sound recently started putting horrible feedback through my speakers. I had another sound card laying around but it did not have a speaker fill option. I have a 7.1 creative system so it is important to me that my sound card will play my movies and music through all the speakers not just the front 2. I read a lot of reviews on different cards and heard a lot of people have trouble with this in windows 7. You will not have that problem with this card. I didn’t even have to do a speaker fill. It automatically does that for you on the files that are in 2.1. The sound is great from this card and installation and drivers were very easy. I have windows 7 64 bit and i just installed the disk that came with it and it worked great. I would recommend this to anyone who has more than 2 speakers for their computer.

This card replaces built in motherboard sound that lost the left channel. The computer only uses simple twin stereo speakers, not a surround setup
Pros: Easy install in PCI slot, software install was OK, sound is very good, decent price, delivery fast
Cons: Too many selections in the software for choices. Just install drivers
Works fine with my pair of speakers, has software options for surround sound if you need it

Works OK but does not allow adjustment of equalization settings, even though they are in the management software. Creative support supposedly available Thurs – Sunday after 9:00pm at night but still have not got them on the phone (obviously overseas). I doubt this cards supports EQ but there is no way to determine if it truly does without just trying it. Yet another learning experience…

I purchased this sound card to install in an old PC running Windows XP primarily because the item photo shows the installation CD with the sound card. The order arrived missing the installation CD for the SB0570 sound card and without the CD the sound card couldn’t be installed.

I’ve had my current desktop for a few years now, and the sound recently went. I reinstalled the driver, but no go.
Life without sounds sucks.
I wanted to find a decent sound card without spending too much money; after all, I *don’t* use this PC as a multimedia center, so getting something more expensive wouldn’t be worthwhile for me.
So I read the reviews for this card, liked a lot of what I saw, and ordered it. I just put it in a few minutes ago (after deleting the old driver, naturally), and…yahoo! Mon dieu, we have sound! 🙂
No problems installing, no problems getting Windows (I have XP) to recognize the new card, and the most important thing: Sounds can now be heard!
Maybe it’s not true stereo sound or whatever, but this gets the job done, and it’s more than worth the price.

Lots of Terrible reviews almost made me not buy this card. The price was just too good. I purchased it, and guess what? it came with a disc! Full of drivers! It was so amazing it blew my mind! No…Really, I put this in my fathers computer because his on-board went nutty. Quick install and a run of the disc and it runs like a top!. Sounds great with his 2.1’s! Runs his sub woofer great! My father is a musician and is very picky. He called this “Studio quality sound.” if your just looking for a card to bring your sound back this is it. it also supports up to 7.1 DDS This is a great product.
P.S. We like an internal sound card on the back of the machine, because little children like to play with usb items that light up and look pretty. We have lots of grand kids running around. 🙂

There have been a few interesting reviews for this product here on Amazon. Some are evidently due to lack of experience with computers. I will just list a few things you might want to know.
1. The card was very easy to install and update. As stated in the instructions.. Install the card, then boot up. When it detects the card and wants to search for drivers.. hit cancel. Then when your desktop loads, insert the installation cd and install the software. This gets you the bonus material on the cd as well as the drivers. This includes an automated update system for driver and software updates. You can schedule it to check for (I recommend) once a month, but run it once when you first install. This automatically updates your drivers for you. Very easily done. No searching the net, no messing with anything. Just click the options you want.
2. Sound cards in general. Most computers packaged these days come with onboard (chipped directly to the motherboard) sound cards. This is a terrible idea. The onboard sound card
a. is using your system resources and will could be causing conflicts or bottlenecks that lessen gaming and other intensive cpu usage and
b. not a real sound card and therefore generally a real pain (usually impossible) to upgrade the drivers on.
I am a gamer from ancient history of computer gaming and can tell you this.. sound card drivers not being updated are the cause of just as many, if not more problems crashing other programs than anything else on your computer save the video drivers.
Finally.. as for the sound. The digital 7.1 is awesome. I really notice a difference and have enjoyed the performance of this card very much.
