Install was not that hard. Came to Lithuania pretty fast. So far it works good. Installed it on Audi A6 C5 2000y 2.5 TDI Quattro Automatic. I saw some bad reviews about this , but most of them are from people that don’t have enough experience to install this remote start system and shouldn’t buy it in the first place. Overall im really happy and quality of this remote start exceeded my expectations..

Updated- original review is below. Apparently Crimestopper ships these with low-quality batteries in the remote. The weak battery allowed the lock and unlock function to work, but made remote starting sometimes not work at all. Also, I replaced the battery in my car. It was strong enough to start the car, but was just low enough to make either the starter module or the security bypass malfunction. Now the unit works well. Just be sure to buy 2 good CR2025 cells for each remote and replace them as soon as you intend to use the remote starter. Giving it 4 stars for shipping with crappy remote batteries.
Original (one star) review: I’m not at all happy with this item. It’s been installed a little over a month and it’s already having intermittent problems. I made good connections installing it and soldered each wire, so I’m confident that the problem is not my wiring. It works 4/5 times but sometimes it will not respond in any way to the remote start button. It will usually respond to the lock and unlock buttons even when not responding to the start button. Other times it will crank and not disable the anti-theft system. I’m not entirely sure which device isn’t working, this or the fortin unit, but both devices are sold by Crimestopper and should just work the way they are supposed to. I used to be a Crimestopper fan 10 years ago when their products worked well, but after this experience I won’t be buying their products anymore.

So far this is an awesome product for the low price! It is definitely not a simple install. If you don’t have auto wiring experience and more than general auto lingo, don’t even try. I read over the install instructions several times, which are confusing, vague, and out of order. It is an all day project for sure. One major benefit to this unit is it doesn’t require all of the relays and resistors that some of the other brands require. I did have to set up a reverse polarity relay for my door locks, and I did do it wrong the first time burning out the actuator on the drivers door. The remote start is such a nice feature to have. I had my son take the Jeep for a ride around the block to test the range of the remote. I’m very impressed with the range! Now that I have installed it once, I think I can do it again in half a day. I will be buying another one of these for my other vehicles for sure. It didn’t take much to convince both of my son’s they need this too. The remotes are very solid and look like they will last a long time. The immobilizer is required however I cheated my way around that by permanently attaching the head of the only chipped key I have inside the steering column. I have been running the Jeep this way for a while using two regular keys without the chip in them. The biggest benefit is I bought my Jeep without a key fob. Every time I unlocked the door the alarm would go off alerting everyone and their dog that I was getting into my Jeep! Very annoying! This unit has enabled me to disarm the alarm at a fraction of the cost of buying a new fob and having it programed, with the added bonus of having remote start for the hot summers and cold winters!
Customer service was quick to answer the phone and my question, I should have used them a few more times.
Some of the other features not listed: Wait to start for diesel engines; turbo cool down timer allowing you to leave the vehicle and it stays running for 3-5 minutes extending the life of the turbo; basic programmable start timer; 2 separate vehicle operation from one remote; RPM enabled lock and unlock of all doors; keep running feature, allows you to run into a store with the key and locked doors for up to 20 minutes and the car will stay running, great feature on a hot Arizona day! There are numerous more, but these are things that would have sold me even faster on this product.
Overall a fantastic product! Now to see how it will stand the test of time!

This Crimestopper RS7-G5 was a great addition to my 2002 F250 Superduty Powerstroke. My main reason for installing this was to let my truck warm up even on not-so-cold days. The transmission just runs better when the old gal has a minute or two to get her feet under her before I hit the throttle on the diesel engine. The diesel start delay option is built in and easy to set. I’ve been using it for about a week now and have been very pleased with it’s operation. INSTALLATION: I read everything I could find about it before purchasing and there were no surprises for me during the installation. Even though it’s a relatively straight forward installation I have to agree with other reviewers in that you shouldn’t try to self-install this (or any) system without at least some 12VDC auto experience. Every car has its own nuances so research, research, research and get a good wiring diagram for your vehicle. Don’t be surpised if you need an additional module or something to make everything work correctly. You can G**gle enough to figure things out for your specific vehicle but you’ll need to appreciate a challenge or two here and there such as locating wires in bundles as big as your wrist. OPERATION: I have been impressed and pleased with the operation of this unit. The range is really very good and I’m starting the vehicle daily from inside an office behind about three walls of brick, sheetrock and glass. If you’re a elelctronics geek like me you can integrate a NodeMCU chip and tell Alex to, “Start my truck” when you roll out of bed in the morning and enjoy that toasty cab as you head to work. 🙂 SERVICE: I contacted the manufacturer through thier website to ask a couple of questions during the install and they were pretty quick to respond with tips and such. Very helpful folks. My experience with unit has been great so far. I’ll update this review if there’s anything worthy to report.
