This Crossrock case is an excellent value, and a huge upgrade from the cloth cases.

    What we like about it:
It is a very study case, with stiff walls all around and a nicely padded interior. The felt lining is very luxurious, and it came with a couple of small felt “pillows” that you can position wherever you want so that the case fits your particular instrument well. It has two separate bow compartments, plus a small accessories pouch. It has several buckles that wrap around the top and bottom, so it is definitely going to stay locked shut during transport. All of our buckles align perfectly when closing the top. The integrated wheels are very well made and protected from damage. It is better than most suitcase wheel designs because the wheels are partially embedded into the case, so they are not likely to sustain damage. The handle was a surprising positive feature. It also folds nicely into the case, but is comfortable to use. My daughter liked that she had a choice in color–we chose the silver one and it’s unique and striking. The price.. This is an exceptional value.

    Any negatives?
It’s a fairly heavy case, and the back-pack straps are not the best. If back-packing is your primary mode of transport, I would recommend a nicer set of straps that have some better padding. If you want a really light case, you will have to multiply your budget by quite a bit, because the super light cases are also super expensive.

At first glance this case appears to be pretty nice and substantial. However, 5 months into using the case, it is just not holding up very well. The metal pieces that hold the backpack straps to the case are made of just about the cheapest metal that they could find. The piece that holds the top of the straps just snapped right off. Thankfully, she wasn’t wearing it at the time or there could have been a major problem. Also, one of the feet that stabilizes the case on the bottom broke off. I contacted the company and Amazon to see if I could get replacement parts (preferably a D ring) but they wanted me to ship the case back at my expense. Huh? Where can I even get a box that big? Not to mention that my daughter had multiple concerts for which she needed her cello to have a case. This case did not have a tremendous amount of travel time- it is only put in the car once per week for lessons and orchestra. It really should not have started falling apart. Be aware that the 2 year warranty is practically useless. I did ask them to ship me a new one and then I would send the old one back in the box they provide, but received no response from the company but I really just wanted replacement parts. I took the case to an instrument case repair man and he said that the metal used for the pieces to attach the straps to the case is very weak metal. I have to wonder if they really save that much money by using such an inferior metal on a part that is used frequently by students. Most of the kids I’ve seen are using the backpack straps on their cases to carry them. Anyway, the instrument repair guy ran steel wire through the bracket and then I reinforced the others with wire just in case those snap in half too so the cello doesn’t fall off her shoulders. I had to then wrap the wire in duct tape to keep it from scratching my daughter or the case. Of course, replacement d rings would look much more professional but since I can’t seem to get them from the company I had to improvise. If you have a nice cello, you might want to go ahead and spend a little more money to purchase a better case than this one.

I loved the quality and price of this case. It was supposed to be a gift for my 13 yr old. She has been collecting stickers for a while now. She was looking forward to putting them on to her cello case. However this is a textured surface so stickers don’t stick to it. Otherwise it’s a great case.

We got this as a gift and given the cost of cello cases, this is a good deal. It does not have a weird smell as some cases are noted to have. There are tons of latches but they are all like that. It is heavier than a cloth bag of course and it is harder to put it in a vehicle but is much more protective. Room for two bows but not music. Comes with a backpack strap.

This product is lightweight and the wheels make it super easy to transport. It definitely provides protection when transporting my instrument. My chief complaint is the number of closures. It seems that there was a trade off on rigidity/weight and/or hinges by adding more latches. If the case is not completely aligned when closing, some of the latches will not fasten. I find myself only using half of the latches for short transport and only using all of them when shipping or checking it as luggage at the airport.

The first case I received had many dents and cracks in it, it was returned and replace promptly.
The second case arrived and it too is cracked.
The hard shell case is not strong enough to take a hit and survive, and for the cost of it, why isn’t it?
Save your money and buy else where.
    Highly not recommended !

I just love this case for my cello…. I am only a beginner and use a soft case for going to lessons etc, but I love the protection of this solid case for storage at home in a busy household with lots of animals….. it’s very easy to use and very manoeuvrable for this Senior…. the price was fantastic when I bought it too…

I can’t compare this product with others like it because it’s my first hard case for ‘cello. However it does have one major shortcoming. The two bow holders have straps that are supposed to secure your bows in place DON’T. They are velvet fabric with small Velcro patches that don’t provide reliable security. I’ve had a bow jar loose inside the case TWICE, and foul up under the fingerboard of the ‘cello, making it very difficult to open the case without damaging the bow. I’m working today on an improvised solution to this problem, and I shouldn’t have to!. I find the case itself to be extremely flexible when open, sometimes making it a bit tricky in securing the closures on the outside of the case. This requires developing a method regarding in what order to fasten the 10 trunk-style closures. Some positive features: The case is provided with two pairs of sturdy luggage wheels at the bottom, and a strong, solid, and comfortable pull handle at the top which folds into a thoughtfully designed recess. Overall, the case is impressively attractive and provides apparently excellent rigidity and protection after securing the fasteners. I give it only 4 out of 5 stars because of the worrisome problem with the bow retainers and the moderate difficulty in securing the closures.

Di certo tiene ben custodito il cello, ma è veramente troppo pesante per il trasporto quotidiano. Spacca la schiena.
Ottimo invece per essere trasportato in aero o in macchina.
