Installed fine on 2007 BMW 530i, and all the belt/pulley related noise is gone. Agree with another reviewer who also pointed out the wrong instruction about removal of the back clip/cover of the idler pulley — removed 1 star for this — may be this is true for some car, but definitely not for all car. Manufacturer must update this appropriately to avoid any confusion or worse …….

Used this to replace the serpentine belt on my e90 330i. Took about 30 minutes and my skill level is moderate (I do all of the maintenance and repairs that do not require going inside the engine/transmission). Make sure you have the e14 and T60 sockets, plus a T20 driver to remove the air intake if you need a bit more room.
Fit perfectly. No more chirping and squeaking coming from my engine compartment. I highly recommend changing all three parts in the kit since they are all prone to failure.
My only quibble with this product was that when I received the box, it was a generic box from Continental Tech that did not display any sort of label or fitment guide… so the only way to know if it was the correct product was to bear down and start taking parts off of my engine. That may make a novice mechanic nervous, but I live on the edge.

Just installed it on 328i 2009. It was rather easy. The tensioner and the idler pulley look identical to the original. The original belt itself is ContiTech but has BMW printed on it in green. The one that came in the box is ContiTech with white markings and no BMW. A few videos say that you need T55 to release the belt but really it is T60.

Kit fits my 2007 328xi perfectly. Easy to install. Comes complete with the belt, the tensioner, the one-time use torque-to-yield aluminum bolt for the tensioner, the idler, idler bolt, and idler bearing front dust cover.
I knocked down one star because there was some confusion from a “Component Alert” leaflet included in the kit. It says the idler may contain a “bolt retaining clip” which must be removed before installation. I’m not sure this is correct. I found my original idler has the “clip” on the bolt and I’m quite sure no one has worked on my engine since I picked up the car in Munich, fresh out of the factory. So either my engine was assembled wrong or the leaflet is incorrect. I believe it’s the latter. It seems to me the “clip” is actually the rear dust cover for the idler bearing, evidenced by the grime accumulated on it after 10 years of service. I installed the new pulley with the “clip” on. It works perfectly.

This kit worked exactly as I needed it. ContiTech parts are used by my mechanic and they are top notch parts. This was an exact fit for my 2006 E90 BMW 325 Xi. Saved me quite a few bucks.

read instructions there is thin flat washer used in packing big note says remove before installing. Dealer .. installed same kit .. did not remove shipping washer .. which I found when disassembling the one one the car. which was over 100k ago This is a great quality kit. installed here at 215000 miles. BMW 530i 07.
AMZN Reviews –
This is a task most people can do for their vehicle on their own if they have a couple of tools. You can’t beat the quality and value in this package.

I bought this instead of a BMW branded item. Perfect fit. Easy to install. Can confirm this part fits and works on E60 2008 528i and on N52 motors.
I’m an amateur mechanic and do all my own repairs on my BMW. Replacing the tensioner, idle pulley, and belt took me about 1 hour. You won’t be able to pull the old tensioner through the top of the block, so you’ll have to drop it out of the bottom. New tensioner goes in the same way.
Super easy fix and definitely a job an inexperienced home garage mechanic could do themselves.
Will use ContiTech for all accessory belt replacements in the future on my BMW. Great part and great quality.
