UPDATE: October 30, 2017
Well, almost exactly 5 years to the day I bought it, my Cuisinart electric tea kettle finally bit the dust. In the last couple of months, it seems to have been catching water in the base area, and then when I’d pour hot water into a mug, some water would leak out the bottom of the pitcher from the seam where the base meets the sidewall. I wasn’t sure if it was from boiling over because I filled it too high, or if something had cracked on the inside where I couldn’t see. Finally today, when I tried to get it to operate, it warmed slightly but then shut itself off and wouldn’t boil the water. I am assuming that this is a protection mechanism probably to help me avoid a fire. Regardless, I was very happy with this product, I used it multiple times each day when I was home, and I enjoyed the multiple temperature options. I would periodically use a sharpie marker to indicate the temp gauges on the handle for guests who might use it because the printing had long ago worn off from simple use.
UPDATE: December 2014
I have been using this tea kettle for two years, several times (5?) each day, practically every day. It’s shows no sign of burning out, and it still looks great. The printing has worn away from almost all of the buttons, but as I use this so often, I have all the temperature settings memorized. However, I can see that being something worth fixing going forward. (=

ORIGINAL REVIEW: As of this writing (June 2013), I have been using this tea kettle for 7 months, every day, several times a day, save for a few weeks away here and there. I drink tea all day long, and I work from home. I was a tad leery before making this purchase because some people had complained about the tea kettle burning out. Thus far, I have not had this issue at all.
I LOVE that I can set the relevant temperature for the tea I want to brew. Mostly I brew black teas in the morning, but I then switch to milder ones as the day turns later. It didn’t take long for the “boil” (hottest) button to become illegible, which is about the only “bad” thing I have to say about this product. I’m not sure how I could have prevented the printing from wearing away from the most-used buttons, other than using some kind of plastic glove, but other than that, I am extremely pleased with this product.
I was initially intrigued about the “warm” button, which promised to keep the water at the proper temp for 30 minutes, which means that it will start heating it up again all by itself. I didn’t actually like that, and so I now never have that function selected. I sometimes take longer than 30 minutes to drink a large cup, and when I go back, it’s quick enough to simply reheat the water again anyway, so instead of wearing out the heating element, I’d rather just do that manually myself.
It’s easy to clean, it looks sleek, I love the illuminated buttons, and it’s a lot nicer than the several basic versions of electronic tea kettles I’d had in the past in Germany. I will never go back to a traditional tea pot on the stove. These are so much faster to heat up, and now with the precise temperature controls, it almost seems barbaric to think back to when I used one!

What I really like is the colors, but the best thing is the sound at the end letting me know it’s done heating the water. Recommend it

Great looking kettle with enough flexibility to keep the most discerning customer happy and a 3 year warranty – what more can you ask for?

I use this several times a week. I don’t like using boiling water for tea, not even black tea, and so this is great for selecting the temperature that I want. I haven’t verified with a thermometer that it is actually the temperature that it says it is, but another reviewer said this gets closer than another similar brand, so that’s why I bought this. So far, it’s working great.
It heats up so fast, so it’s great to use when cooking, b/c sometimes you need to add more water to things, and being able to add boiling water straight away is so helpful.

This kettle beats all others, hands down, for longevity, ease of use, footprint, care & versatility. When I’m in a hurry and need warm or boiling water for a recipe, this is faster & more efficient than using the microwave or stove, or running water from the tap till it warms up. I can boil 2 kettles this faster than boiling it on the stove, and get more, and hotter, water for pour-over, french press for a big (20 oz) mug of instant coffee or tea faster than I can with a drip or Keurig.
I love the ability to set the water temp, and the auto shut-off, as well as the Keep Warm feature, which is great when I’m cooking and need boiling water for recipes at different times, or when my morning & hubby’s aren’t in synch. He can heat water for his breakfast, and hit “Keep Warm” so it’s ready for me when I come down to grab mine.
We previously had hard water, which resulted in scale buildup in the kettle. I found that heating a bit of 2:1 vinegar:water once a week, then rinsing out, solved this easily. Once a week I wipe down the exterior, when cool, with the same wipes I use on my stainless steel appliances, and it looks fantastic. Be warned, it is a kettle, and the exterior will get very hot, and produce steam. So, only touch the handle after heating, keep out of reach of children & pets (includingvwhere they could reach & pullon the cord), and use a few inches from anything at risk of heat or steam damage – plastics, including canisters and press & stick decorative tiles/tile stickers, paper & cardboard packages, and don’t set it under your cabinets while heating, as steam can cause damage & adhesive loosening, even on laminated cabinets.
This is my 4th order of this model kettle. The first was killed, after 7 faithful years of use several times daily, by a whole-house power surge that occurred while it was heating, that fried several things in my house. I had the replacement for 5 years, using it 4-6x daily, replacing it with #3 after it mysteriously grew legs and found it’s way to my daughter’s college dorm, supporting the college caffeine + ramen needs for her and a dozen of her friends. 10 years later, they’re both still getting daily use, in her home & mine, and look & function like new. I ordered this one because I thought mine had finally worn out, as I couldn’t get it to turn on from any of my kitchen outlets, but it turned out to be a bad circuit breaker, nit the kettle. I decided to to return it, because when you find something this great & reliable, it’s worth having a spare, just in case it’s ever changed or discontinued.

This is a great product! Great value even though it’s pricey. Boil time is very fast. Has a “keep warm” function (at the temp you’ve selected) that remains active for 30 min. Multiple temp. settings. Very clean stainless steel appearance. Easy cleaing surfaces. Excellent workmanship throughout. Of course, auto shut off feature for safety.

it is an absolute waste of money. not suitable for indian voltage , the converter recommended by the seller was for a lower voltage & the coil was damaged. Had to throw the kettle. entire money gone down the drain.
