I’ve been using D’Addario strings for years now. They scratch the itch of good tone, quality strings, and it’s a brand I trust because of that.

5/5 will continue to use these strings in the studio and live!

These are the best sounding bass strings I’ve ever had! They really do have a MUCH brighter sound than other strings. It really transforms the bass from a muddy mellow sound into a bright, full sound. Definitely the best bang-for-buck I can imagine for improving your bass sound (unless you want a nice soft mellow sound for your music). I had one hiccup with the order in that one of the strings had a very mellow sound, so they may have accidentally shipped me one of the flat wound strings. D’Addario customer service was extremely responsive and sent me new strings right away with express shipping – I couldn’t be happier with their customer service!

Was originally looking for thicker strings for the D standard tuning, and someone suggested these I believe. They work great for me, and I use them on my Fender 4 string jazz bass

I recently purchased the D’Addario Electric Bass Guitar Strings – EXL160BT 50-120 – Nickel Wound Bass Strings for my dad, who’s been a passionate bass and guitar player for over 50 years. Let me tell you, these strings have truly transformed his playing experience!

The fuller sound that these strings produce is nothing short of extraordinary. My dad was immediately captivated by the rich, deep tones that resonated from his bass. The clarity and resonance these strings provide are unmatched, adding a whole new dimension to his music.

Being a veteran musician, my dad has tried numerous strings over the years, but he was particularly impressed by the longevity of these D’Addario strings. They maintain their excellent tone even after extended hours of playing, which is a testament to their high quality and durability.

I wholeheartedly recommend the D’Addario Electric Bass Guitar Strings – EXL160BT 50-120 – Nickel Wound Bass Strings to other seasoned musicians out there. If you’re looking for strings that not only deliver exceptional sound but also stand the test of time, these are the ones to get. My dad hasn’t stopped raving about them, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed either. Happy playing!

Used them years ago, recently got back into playing and they still have the same feel and sound! Makes my Thunderbird sound a little brighter, not so flat sounding.

They hold up just fine and sound alright, but they certainly are rougher on my fingers more than other strings I’ve used in the past.

Pas la première fois que je les prends, la tension est nickel pour un accordage en drop C (-2 tons) avec les autres cordes en -1 ton.
Durabilité correcte, bonne tenue de l’accordage.

I’ve been using the 95-40 and 107-45 balanced tension D’addario strings on my 34” scale 4 string basses almost exclusively for quite a while now.

They sound good, feel good, and have an average life span. Since I have several basses and am not currently gigging, I won’t speak to their longevity because I may not put as many hours on them over the course of, say, a month as others might.

I got into balanced tension strings because I hate the way the D string always has way higher tension than the E and A in most normal string sets. Now, each string has a similar bendiness which I think makes the playing experience more enjoyable.

I’ve never received a dead string from D’addario, either, and I’ve used their strings on probably 75% of the many basses I’ve had over the last 10+ years.

If you’re like me and want to play your bass in a lower tuning but with enough tension that the string keeps its tuning when playing harder but still has some nice feel and isn’t overly tight. Buy these, I doubt you will be disappointed. For anything Lower than B standard though on a 34inch scale bass its flop city. But if you are playing in C# these are the great strings. The feel; picture using 100-45 in E standard, that’s the feel they have in C# standard. Very comfortable strings.
