What can I say? If you have a Fender Bass VI, new or vintage, these are the strings you need for it.

These sound pretty nice on my Eastwood Sidejack Bass VI, but I wish they had more clarity and brightness in the tone. It is harder to achieve a particularly bright and clear tone on a bass vi, but it would be nice to have someday. These strings are still nice; they work well. The low E string is a little bit loose. Maybe because of lower gauge.

These are fine strings, but it should be noted that they have the small ball ends, like on a guitar string, as opposed to the larger ones you might find on a bass string. If you’re hoping to use them on another bass, so you can string E-E, make sure your bridge or tailpiece can accommodate them.

Even though I underestimated the gauge, they sound great! The only issue I had was the top (or thinnest) string snapped while tuning for the first time.

The low E is ridiculously floppy when tuned to pitch. Unusable. It’s bizarre that D’Addario doesn’t offer a set with a decent low E. A floppy E is mentioned in lots of reviews here, elsewhere, and in online discussions over and over as the biggest problem with Bass VI strings. It’s a shame because the strings themselves are good!

I got these for my Squier VM Bass VI. They fit just fine, and are noticeably better quality than the strings that came with the guitar. As many have noted, the low E string needs to be heavier to sound right on this guitar. The .84 doesn’t quite cut it, but I guess that’s not the string’s fault.

These strings are perfect for the squire vintage modified bass vi. These strings are a little lighter gauge than the strings that come with it but that’s a good thing because the original strings caused a lot of fret buzz on the low E. After putting on these strings and adjustments to the bridge height, the saddle height of each string, and the truss rod. This bass plays great. Perfect hybrid of a bass and guitar. If I would complain about anything at all it would be that the strings sound really bright when they’re new. I’ll wear them in though.
