I’m not usually a brand exclusive kinda person, but these are the best electric guitar strings period. D’Addarios exl series are cheap, stay bright way longer than the folks with the paper packaging, and just flat out sound amazing. The balanced tension ones in particular are great if you have a guitar that has a floated bridge or some sort of tremolo unit on it. I don’t see a terrible difference between this set and the regular exl strings, but I do prefer these when I’m able to buy them. Thank you D’Addario for making the only piece of guitar equipment that I’ve never had issues with.

i have never tried or heard of balanced tension strings. I’m a seasoned player & have no issue with tensions, but they were cheep and I was curious to see if the alternate gauges would have a different tone compared to the regular 10 to 52s i usually get .
i haven’t tried them yet since they are a backup set. But i can say, you can never go wrong with D’Addario strings. I use them on all my electrics, acoustics, classical guitars, my electric bass & acoustic bass…
D’Addario strings rarely ever break and they have never let me down. i play many many styles as a studio musician, so i imagine ill be just as happy with these

Had a guitar to repair, cleaned it up, refinished it, slapped on some new electronics, some new hardware, and these strings, and it is very nice. I usually play acoustic, so this is a bit new to me, and with that they perform very well. I was terrified of strings breaking, but putting these on I wasn’t super scared, the tension is really great and stay in tune very well.
