These strings are listed as the recommended gauge for my Jerry Jones Neptune Longhorn 6 String Bass. Unfortunately the low E string is too thick to fit through the hole in the tuning peg. Anyone know of a set that fits the Neptune/Danelectro style tuners?

I own a 2013 limited edition Fender Bass VI as well as a 2013 Squier Bass VI. I will own the Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI soon as well, and these are the same strings (D’Addario) that my limited edition came from the factory with, and the same gauge strings the Squier came equipped with, and the same gauge the Pawn Shop model uses. While they are a lighter gauge series than the original Fender Bass VI strings of the past (those had a range of . 025-.095), again, this set contains the gauge series used on all the currently made models, including the Squier, contrary to what is listed on Fender’s Squier site. These are comparable to Fender’s current Bass VI string set, as they are the same gauge range of .024-.084. I like D’Addario’s quality, and these are no exception.

Rien a dire, une marque reconnue, toujours au top
(Achetées pour essayer sur une baritone acoustique, trop de tension, ça n’a pas fonctionné)
Mais en soi, elles restent solides

    Just like the title says.
I originally went w/ the Fender version, but would’ve had to modify the nut for the low E & didn’t want to do that. Found these & am pleased with them.

I’ve been using these for my Bass VI since the late 90s and though they are a lighter gauge than what Fender originally put on mine (a ’96 MIJ) I love them. The low E can get floppy, but I think that’s just a Bass VI thing. These ring nice and clearly with a nice piano-like quality especially when fresh.

The string length is more than enough for the reverse headstock on my bass vi, as always with D’addario strings the quality is fantastic, they sound crisp.

good affordable strings they are brighter than my typical brand i use (regular slinky’s) so i’m not sure i prefer these but i’ve got no complaints.

So, one of the first tings people will say about upgrading a Squire Bass VI is to change the strings to a higher gauge. These strings are the same gauge as the stock strings, but the higher string tension significantly improved the playing and bridge stability of the Squire. You can get custom sets of higher gauge strings, but these definitely do the trick. I have been playing XL’s on all of my basses for a few years now, and I cannot recommend them enough. High quality, long lasting, and they sound great.
