Cordes de qualité comme d’habitude. Je ne m’étendrai pas sur le ressenti et le son car cela reste très subjectif mais la réputation de la marque est justifiée.
Driekus –
The coating on these strings are really good. I live on the coast in the tropics, with humidity that ranges between 70 – 90 percent all the time. The upper chords which I play the most have visible handling discoloration, but not as much as the other, more expensive brand which I tried on my new guitar. I was sceptical at first, but from now on these are the strings that I will use on all the guitars that I am building.

It is a very personal preference, but the sound of these XS Phosphor Bronze strings are the best I have found so far. I’ve played over thirty years, and I’ve been trying a lot of acoustic strings over the past several years. I like these for the brightness and the volume they project, so if you are looking for a warmer, more balanced sound, I don’t think these would give you that. I have been using the 10s on three different acoustics, including a Seagull Entourage and an old Yamaha FG 180. I will continue to use these strings for as long as they are produced to their current quality.

Make sure you know what you want your strings to do. If, like many of us, you use the same guitars for practice, recording, and performance (= modern context), XS phosphor bronze strings could deliver just what you are hoping for. If you are fighting with a banjo through a mike, or no mike at all, look elsewhere, and good luck with that. Excessive string noise is no longer tolerable in recordings or performance, and the XS string surface gives a good edge and ring to notes while still offering excellent reduction in string noise. Therer are other brands that squeak even less, though that results in a less crisp and airy tone. You’ll have to decide what balance you want; for me, XS nails it. Like most modern, coated strings, XS strings deliver a string-to string balance in volume and a kind of coherent chord tone that modern plkayers may find wonderful — I do — because it no longer obsesses with the piercing trebles and booming bass useful in acoustic bluegrass but unhelpful for many who are recording, or playing with amplification, or playing under a vocalist, etc. When the light buklb went off and I stopped obsessing with being the loudest, most cutting acoustic player possible, and realized I don’t have to have cat-fight level finger noise, that my chords could be more musical and less “busy” sonically, and that notes played on any string could be more readily in balance with each other, I made the move first to Elixers (OK) and then the XS (great, IMO). My only complaint is that the price is high. I just don’t believe that this is justified by production costs and feel like I’m getting screwed out of 3-4 extra bucks because these strings are marginally better than others. That’s the price of capitalism, I guess. Soak the consumer.

I recently switched to the D’Addario XS Phosphor Bronze Coated Acoustic Guitar Strings (Extra Light, 10-47), and they have completely transformed my playing experience. Here’s my detailed review:
**Tone Quality:**
The tone of these strings is nothing short of exceptional. The phosphor bronze material delivers a warm, rich, and well-rounded sound that’s perfect for fingerpicking and strumming. Despite being coated strings, they maintain a bright, clear tone without sounding muted, which is often an issue with coated alternatives.
**Feel & Playability:**
The XS coating provides an ultra-smooth feel that makes playing incredibly comfortable. Sliding between chords and frets feels effortless, and the light gauge (10-47) reduces finger fatigue, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced players who prefer a softer touch.
**Durability & Lifespan:**
What really sets these strings apart is their longevity. The advanced coating technology protects the strings from corrosion and dirt buildup, which extends their life significantly. Even after weeks of regular playing, they still sound and feel fresh. This durability makes them a fantastic value for the price.
**Tuning Stability:**
These strings hold their tuning remarkably well. After a short break-in period, they remain stable even with aggressive playing or frequent tuning adjustments. This reliability is crucial for live performances and recording sessions.
**Overall Impressions:**
The **D’Addario XS Phosphor Bronze Coated Strings** combine superior tone, playability, and longevity into one outstanding product. Whether you’re a gigging musician, a casual player, or someone who just wants a great acoustic sound without frequent string changes, these strings are worth every penny.
**Rating: 5/5**
Smooth, long-lasting, and sonically impressive – these are my go-to acoustic guitar strings from now on!
Nicolas de la cruz –
These strings are bright and slick with a nice coating on it. If you’re looking for something similar to elixers this is their best competitor. With durability and bright full rich sound it really gives elixir a run for their money
Client d’Amazon –
one of the best coated string i used in my acoustics.
Elasmobranchii –
First of all, I am 80 years old. My fingers don’t works like a like a younger guitar player. I’ve been struggling for a while playing. I tried the new Santa Cruz strings and didn’t find them any easier to play than any other strings. I saw these new D’Addario strings advertised as the new Taylor go to strings. I didn’t believe the hype but all I had to loose is 19 bucks.
My main guitar is a custom Eichelbaum finger style guitar. I replaced the strings with these strings and WOW, the ease of play and the sound was incredible. I really love them. I then put them on my 00 Santa Cruz all mahogany and it never sounded so good.
These strings may not be for everyone, but if you need a little help playing, I can’t recommend them enough.
Client d’Amazon –
Avant Taylor travaillait avec Élixir mais sur la 514, d’origine c’était cette marque. Je les préfères car elles réveillent la sonorité de ma guitare et ont une durabilité exceptionnelle. Je les recommandes vivement
Carlos Ramos –
Really great product from D’Addario, nice sound and durability.
rJ100 –
Atendeu as expectativas.
Doug Masten –
I’m a beginner and will be moving to barre chords next class session. Bought these to make a little easier. They are easier to fret and not as hard on the fingers vs light set they replaced. Sound may be a little poorer but still ok and worth trade-off.
