Third WD19S purchased from Amazon and Dell, none of which WORK. I have another 2 at home, both issued by companies. One does not reliably operate its USB ports, the other is flawless.
Picking a USB laptop dock is serious business, seems like there is a lot of bad product out there. Just have a look at the “refurbished” on Amazon and “used” on eBay to see what I mean. You stand a strong chance of getting something with some, majority, or critical functionality not working, and if you are lucky, you too can damage a monitor or two with your purchase.
Save yourself the trouble and spend the money on name-branded products elsewhere, but the Dell WD19S, either direct or on Amazon, is not the product you want!

I purchased this docking station so that I could reduce the number of cables attached to my laptop. It had the bonus of being able to charge the laptop’s battery as well. It was easy and straight forward to install and hookup. All my external devices worked perfectly and all the messy cables are neatly managed and out of the way. The unit is a bit pricey, but it is doing the job well so I can’t complain too much. I would recommend this unit if you would like to streamline the cables going to your lap top.

It is connected to a Dell Latitude or a Dell Inspiron—output to a Dell monitor using a DisplayPort cable and a Lenovo monitor (D24-40) using a HDMI cable. I would recommend this to family and friends.

I have two dell laptop computers Dell Latitude 5510 and E4310 and my Work computer is an HP ProBook 650 G8. This docking station works with all three Laptops. The Refurbished ones look new. I bought two of these stations I work from home and go to the office once a month and I didn’t want to disconnect the Thunderbolt dock. These docking stations are well worth the money. I think they will connect to almost any laptop that has a standard usb 2.0 or 3.0 connection…I am able to use three monitors with this docking station

But, I have to regularly run Dell Command updates (like, every other day), otherwise all my monitors flash on and off every few seconds. It’s annoying, but not a deal breaker.
