This should only be used temporarily, and works great for emergency purposes! It comes with 50 disposable applicators, 1 easy to apply handle, and 1 bottle of liquid benzocaine, so it lasts a really long time unless you go through the applicators really fast. It also works great to help with cold sore pain!

It says it has a fresh mint taste, but it isnt great. It’s a good value for the money and great to have in your medicine cabinet for use when your in need!!! It does expire after about a year.

The hand held wand is very weird, the q tip things don’t even fit in it, so I don’t use the wand. It has a very sweet taste, doesn’t irritate my stomach, and slightly numbs for a couple of minutes, but it’s definitely not as good as orajel, although orajel irritates my stomach and tastes horrible. Win some, lose some.

Of course, the tooth ‘blows up” on a Friday evening. This and aspirin got me through the night, but by Saturday I’m growing an apple on my jaw, taking naproxen and hunting for an urgent care for antibiotics and “something stronger” to kill the pain until the dentist can see me. If you’re considering cutting off your head and putting it somewhere else until you can get medical care due to the pain, this isn’t going to help a lot, but it’s a good “first aid” kit item and better than nothing (it will help numb insect bites too). Oddly it has the same “4 times daily” max use restriction as the typical “standard strength (10% benzocaine) topicals, so this comes down to cost (use standard strength liquid twice as much or twice as often?), application method (the holder and applicator in the kit is a bit easier to use and less wasteful than a cotton swab), but the applicator – 50 in the kit – is also less “bio-degradable” than the cotton and wood stick swab. (If you are really hurting, “eco-friendly” is not likely your biggest concern anyway).
The warning about methemoglobinemia is typical for benzocaine, lidocaine, and prilocaine topicals, so do some internet research to ascertain your susceptibility if you are not sure.
In short, if the pain is annoying and or distracting, this will help deaden it, but if it’s excruciating, not much relief, and not long.

This dental tool cleaning kit is very effective. The tips are razor thin. Small enough to get in between teeth to use as a toothpick, or as cleaning tools. This product in American made. I’ve ordered the other kits that have 10 pieces or more, but ALL of them aren’t for teeth. Every single tool was entirely too thick to insert between your teeth to even use and I returned every kit except this one. Save yourself some time and just buy this. It works!
