Well, it’s definitely not your usual laundry bag. It won’t hold a full load of clothes and if you use a laundromat or laundry room in your apartment building, if it’s not a full load it’s a waste of money to even bother. What I do like it for is to carry art supplies from my studio to another room I want to work in. Holding a 14″ X 17″ pad is a bit too tight but smaller pads will easily fit. I can put pencils, brushes, inks, paints, you name it in there and carry it off to the kitchen or the living room or up on the roof of the apartment building.
It could work for small laundry needs like your hand washable items of the week. But, a full load of clothes. No.

This is a review for the DII Heavy Duty Canvas Laundry Bag or Hamper, 14x14x16 in Gray Colorblock.
I have a LOT of DII boxes and containers and have found them incredibly helpful in keeping my house looking tidy and organized. Their products come in a variety of shapes and colors and materials – some I’ve found more useful than others.
This particular DII hamper is particularly useful for me for a variety of reasons. I have a small space by the foot of my bed that perfectly fits this bag. I use it to throw my clothes in after I have come back after a run or when I’m in my bedroom and want to change. Saying that, it fills up pretty quickly and I would not recommend it for a bathroom hamper for family because it is just too small and too short.
The bag itself is nice enough looking; the gray is pretty innocuous and would blend in almost anywhere. If you’re looking for something more colorful DII usually has a variety of whimsical colors and patterns.
The bag itself is quite sturdy and I like the utile handles. The best part, as far as using it for clothing, is that it’s lined – so you can put in silks and not worry about anything catching.
The only other issue with this bag is that the sides too cave in a little bit, even with the clothes inside – you can even see it a little bit with the display picture although it’s more noticeable in person.
Still, recommended for those who want a sturdy little lined bag that’s great for clothes, just know that it’s a little on the small side if you’re planning on using this for the whole family.

I can’t stand piles of laundry on the floor and an ugly plastic laundry basket looks equally bad. These canvas totes are a great solution. They are small enough so they are not the focal point of the bedroom but attractive and compact so you can keep it out of the way in the corner of the room or in the closet. I also like that they are not huge, so they don’t have time to get stinky before you have to empty them into the washer. The handles make them easy to carry to the washer and they are not too heavy for a bad back, even when full. I need to get a couple more, these are great!

I was surprised by the size of this hamper. For my family, this hamper is much too small to be used as an everyday laundry basket, but is plenty big if you want to use it for special items, like just delicates, that you want to keep separate from the rest of the laundry pile.
I’m actually using this as a reusable grocery bag instead of a hamper. It collapses nearly flat (due to its size, it’s maybe 1-2″ thick when collapsed) so it stores easily in my trunk, but it REALLY big as a grocery bag. Its materials are very sturdy so it can handle the weight that all the groceries put in it and the straps are nicely stitched on. The canvas material is pretty thick and sturdy, but easily collapses when you want it to. When upright, the bag/hamper has a bit of a “bend” to it, so it’s not fully upright on all four sides, but it does stay up and open.
This hamper can easily be used for a variety of purposes, including small toys, magazines, groceries, underwear/socks, or other purposes I haven’t thought of yet.

This is not heavy duty. It’s functional, but feels a little papery, not like a strong, rugged canvas. It collapses by pushing in the sides from the outside. I’m using it to store wrapping supplies, because it’s a bit small for a hamper and I prefer a lid.

I own lots of DII products, and I have almost never been disappointed. I own lots of their canvas totes, and I’ve enjoyed practically all of them. But THIS ONE is absolutely my favorite. I want a dozen. And I didn’t even think I would use those handles, but I DO. It’s so sturdy, and self standing. there’s a little bit of soft thickness to the fabric; it both stands on its own and lightly protects. It weighs basically nothing, but it holds SOOO much. It looks small and unassuming, but its little and mighty. It’s the PERFECT size, because it looks smaller than it is; the volume is FABULOUS without being cumbersome for a short person (like me!) to carry. And the material (while neither stiff nor scratchy) is sturdy. The straps of comfortable on hands and shoulders.
I could hug it. Buy it. Buy at least two actually. It’s my favorite.
