I have these hanging off the veranda over some comfy chairs, and they are hanging lower than normal as I like plenty of heat when reading my book and sipping my scotch.
It gets to minus degrees where I live and these little beauties have not failed or disappointed. Instant heat when turned on, slowly building to a beautiful warmth that you can feel.
Be aware that they also give off plenty of light when on (also has a LED light) so no other lights are needed.
I fully recommend these little beauties, not only do they work really well, they look pretty good too.

Right size and color. Good value. Plan to use only on the 600 w level as we did not hard-wire the item on our covered porch. The wire coming off the top of the light fixture is impossible to camouflage as it is strung across to a wall for either plugging or wiring. Nevertheless, with the help of some conduit I was able to straighten the plug wire and make it look better.

Using ours in an outdoor pergola. It’s more of a light than a heater as it produces very little heat on high. Thought maybe it needed time to warm up, but after 15 minutes the heat produced is quite limited. It’s very stylish and easy – just wished it was more functional as a heating device.

Was defective and had to return. The ring at the top to use to hang was only half there leaving no way to hang. The chain that was supposed to be included was completely missing. Looks were fine. Was unable to use, so I cannot comment on heat output or other functionality. Product is useless if it cannot be hung up.

The initially delivered (by UPS) heater had a broken tube. I could hear the glass sloshing around before opening the battered box. I returned it for a replacement. The second heater was undamaged and works perfectly, though one of the cheap carabiners they supply with which to hang it broke – easily replaced.

This is the second unit. The first one’s switch when bad on the third pull. This second one waited until the 6th pull before it stopped working. I really wanted the heater, so I took the housing off. There is a weak spring that easily slips off the click mechanism which controls the on/off and low/high settings. You can get it pushed back over, but it doesn’t last very long. As far as the heating is concerned it works best when you have it enclosed (i.e. the curtains zipped up in my 10′ x 10′ Gazebo). Again, for the price, the heater is pretty good, but if you’re not mechanically inclined then this heater is NOT for you!

I was looking for a heat lamp for my dogs on these cold winter nights. Bought this and all I can say is WOW. Works great. Low and high setting, hanged it up, plugged it in and Viola, the dogs are comfy and cozy under the lamp. Great product at an amazing price.
(Update) so, I’ve been using this for about a week and a half now, and the dogs absolutely love it. It is kept them nice and warm when temperatures have gone down into the low 30s / upper 20s. That said, when I went to go turn it off this afternoon, I saw a collection of moth carcasses trapped in the grill. I have attached a photo showing exactly what I mean. I guess I’m going to have to stay on this and make sure it stays clean, otherwise I’m concerned about a potential fire hazard.
