when it is installed on a quick release wheel (most all disc wheels are quick release) there is very little support on the side where the adapter would be located. Think about the offset. There are videos showing installations with quick release of these adapters not really supported by the manufacturer. Works good on a solid axle that extends out further, is threaded and tightened by a wrench. Like an ebike hub motor disc wheel axle.

First off, those who had issues did not install the item correctly. There is a difference between front and rear adapter. Use the wrong one and failure will happen. Secondly, there is exactly one and only one way to install these. If you get the orientation wrong or install backwards, then it will fail!
Lastly, This is most important. You will have to modify the bracket! No way around that fact. For me, I had to bend and twist the bracket to get it in the right orientation and proper placement using a heavy duty bench vise. (Any vice will do, in reality) Just do not do it while installed on the bike. I also had to use a dremel tool to cut the screw bolts as they are too long and is a packaging part error in reality that has never been caught. I screwed the strap down until the bolt touched the brake rotor then used the dremel to shorten length of the screw bolt to provide plenty of space.
FYI, use a large diameter washer behind the bracket to prevent possible torsion failure that some have had installing the bracket backwards. This type of torsion failure is possible correct orientation and the washer will prevent the bracket from spreading its seated mouth. If you install correctly and do the modifications, it works as advertised. This will take someone hours if not all day to install if you are mechanically inclined. Defends on bicycle brand and type as to how much you have to modify. If you do not know much about tools and are not mechanically inclined, then my advise is take it to someone and pay them the $30 to $50 to install it for you. OR, you make make this a project to learn how to use a bench vise and do metal bending. However long it take you will be good experience down the road.
I gave it 3 stars because it does work as advertised. However, I will not give it top rating because it is not a bolt on out of the box item. You have to spend hours to modify, cut and adjust to get it to work.

Do you want those fancy new disc brakes, but only have an old bike frame built for rim brakes? These are what you need. This set has one bracket for the front and one for the rear. Clamp them on, and line up with the drop outs, then you have brackets to install disc brake calipers on. You will of course need the calipers and wheels that support disc brakes too, but these are a start.
My chief complaints are these. The rear brackets clamp is too wide. I had to find something to fill the empty space in order to get a firm clamp down. The front has the threads on the wrong side of the clamp, meaning to screw the clamp down, you have to screw it in through the spokes of the wheel, rather than from the outside. Had both sides of the clamp been threaded, there would have been more options for how to install. The front is also conversely VERY tight. It was hard to get on there, but at least once it’s on it has a solid mount. The disc brakes themselves worked quite well from these adapter brackets,s o they certainly do their job. Just be warned that not all bike frames are the same shape and size, so be prepared to get creative in order to make them line up correctly.

Do not use this, you are better off buying a brand new fork that supports disk brakes, I did get it to work but it easily got loose and warped the rotor
