I’ve been using these for years now. I love the feel and look. They also last a lot longer than non-coated strings. They’re a little more expensive at first but they’ll last and sounds good for months, depending on how much you play. Either way they save you money.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Black strings for my 6-string bass! I noticed that the packaging didn’t specifically state that there were six strings in it, so I safely assumed that it was the right one to get. Nice, bright sound and they look amazing!

You may notice that some of the reviews for these are low because of the new strings apparently having a dull and lifeless sound to them. I think this happened to these people because they didn’t do their research and learn how to put a new set on correctly (YouTube it and see what needs to happen with crimping the new strings before you cut them!).

    I put these on a Yamaha TRB-6 (30-130 )

These strings look every bit as cool as the pictures. their sound is quite big, so in this case.. I do love them.
They are bright and punchy but do not lack a nice tight bottom end.
I play fingerstyle, pick and slap. These cover all 3 very well, nice tactile feel.

they are 2 weeks old, so no comment on longevity.

only one wish is that i wish the B was a taper core.. it’s a tad muddier than I like .
That said, the B is still clearer than some B’s in other brands.

The strings are legit…They sound amazing on my 6-string. I bought them only because the color…DR has nice strings…so why the heck not flaunt some style.

Eliminaron el brillo exagerado, tienen excelente sustain, se sienten muy cómodas, de baja tensión, suenan redondas y definidas. No han dado muestras de opacidad en el sonido, duraderas con calidad!

I love DR strings! I have used DR strings on all of my basses and almost exclusively for more than 20 yrs now. Much like DR’s Sunbeams strings, the sound is bright and warm. I’ll continue to use DR Black Beauties because the sound is great, they last a long time and they really make my basses colors (wood gains) “pop” in the light… The string coating does eventually wear off with aggressive playing in and around points of direct contact (finger style player; strings wear over the pickups from plucking and picks will chew the coating off pretty fast) with the string, but that doesn’t seem to effect the sound or playability of the strings themselves. However, they do go dead pretty fast after that happens… At one point I did use them on my fretless for a while but noticed some fingerboard wear while changing strings. Not as bad as a regular round wound string would have been, but I have since switched to tape wound strings for my fretless.
