I put these on my ebony fingerboard basses to warm them up. The still have plenty of highs, they’re just a little fatter sounding than Hi-Beams or Dunlop Super Brights.

I tried these strings on a Fender Jazz bass and they felt and sounded great. I was just curious to try them instead of my usual Hi-Beams. They were fine, though I think I prefer the feel of the Hi-beams a little more, probably because I’ve been playing on them for over 30 years.

I’m holding off on my final rating until I see how long they hold up. They sound and feel good. Next time I’ll get the next gauge up as the 40-100 feel a bit light.

These strings are an old favorite. The tension is easy on the hands and the string to string balance is very even. They get dull very gradually and last a while. I prefer the lighter .100 on the low E. Plenty of bottom.

Great Strings, but every time I’ve purchased them from Amazon the’ve either been corroded, or bent up in shipping. I call my local Mom and Pop shop and get them for a lower price shipped same day without any hassle.

Tuve que cancelar el pedido porque se quedó más de una semana atorado en aduana.
Pero las cuerdas las he utilizado más veces y están bastante bien.

    It’s really fast delivery.
It came sooner than the base that I entrusted with the repair, so I haven’t tried installing the string yet.
It seemed to be a fake product because it was much cheaper than the price of the DR string sold in Korea, but it was genuine.
It was great to be able to purchase genuine DR strings at an affordable price. I buy a lot next time.

The mids on these strings are lucious thick and that’s where the magic is on the BASS frequency range…finger funk strings

These are NOT COMPRESSION WOUND strings as the description states. As the attached photo and illustration show, a compression wound string has the outer wire compressed to an oval before winding it onto the string. That gives a smoother feel. These strings are more coarse that DR Sunbeam strings (roundwounds) of the same gauge. Returned for refund.

I have been a big far of DR for many years, but I had always put Hi-Beams on my bass. I took a chance with these and I really enjoy the subtle extra mids and lows I can hear, as well as the comfort of the strings. I recommend these if you think the Hi-Beams are a bit too bright on your bass. If I can still find these I will keep getting these instead of the Hi-Beams in the future.
