My central heat is down waiting on a part, and of course the weather got cold. I was using a infrared convection heater I already to warm my bedroom but had some safety concerns with it. I remember my grandparents using a oil filled heater like this back in the 90s for heating an small added room in there house and it did pretty good. I went online and found them pretty reasonable as far as cost and many we’re similar to what they had but then I saw this Dreo brand with remote, timer and digital display and decided to try it. I’m glad it did. The next day I ordered a second one. It kept me toasty all night and I was able to sleep better knowing it wasn’t goin to catch fire as the elements is inside and it radiates a gentle heat. I liked the design of this Dreo not only for the digital features and remote but it also has a nice modern design with rounded fins and a bit more surface area. It displays the current temp then goes off so it won’t keep you up with the light and I can set a start timer each day and a time off to save energy. I kept it on eco mode and it does a nice job of warming my bedroom. I ordered a second one for my den. Even when my central heat is fixed it will come in handy to take the chill off in my room so I can keep my central set lower. If you don’t need the remote or digital control a dial one will work just fine. If you plan to move it from room to room without allowing it to cool down you may want to choose one with a better handle. You can move it warm but the handle does get somewhat warm and the ends get hot too. But unlike a exposed element heater it’s much more economical and safer as the oil inside keeps warmth while it cycles the thermostat. Plus is quiet. My other heater buzzed and could get knocked over easy. This unit does have a tip over shut off but as long as you keep it in a area to itself your good it’s very stable. I’ve seen these units from $65 to $150. Mine was $99. You can even find them with attachments for warming/ drying towels and clothes. I feel safe with the Dreo and that’s why I ordered a second unit

I bought this heater to use in basement hobby room after the thermostat broke on my 23 year old Honey well heater. My hobby room is close to 350 sq. ft. so I needed something that would be capable of heating this large of an area in a room that even in the dead heat of Summer rarely gets past 65°. I’ve had radiator style heaters in the past and although they are slow to get up to temp, they did a good job heating larger areas.
In my search for a new space heater, I admittedly was looking for another Honeywell when this heater popped up and seemed to have a very high satisfaction amongst the reviews. I never heard of Dreo , so I did a bit of research and find out it’s a relatively new company with kitchen and small home appliances to their name. They seem to have high satisfaction amongst most of the product line and so I click to buy this heater.
The heater arrives and assembly is nothing more than attaching the caster wheels to the unit. Simple enough. Read through the manual and get it plugged in and ready to go. I just left it in ECO mode, set the temp to 72° to see how it would respond. Like many of the low-rated reviews have stated, it emits a strange smell and the units occasionally “pops”. The strange smell was non-existent after a few days and the pop noise is just an inherent trait of a radiator heater when it is first started cold. They all do that, every one of them. Once it’s heated up after about 10 minutes it stops popping.
My hobby room was about 58° when the heater was first started and in about an hour it was up the the set temp of 72°. If you’re looking for instant heat output, this isn’t the heater for you. Radiator heaters take much longer to heat the area but are superior when it comes to heating larger, drafty areas. It maintained the set temp fairly well. Sometimes the room temp would get a few degrees higher or lower, but for a space heater, the thermostat and ECO mode did fairly well.
One thing to note, if you are not familiar with radiator heaters, the surface temperature can get insanely hot! (see photo) Please keep this in mind with placement of this unit or if you have small children or pets. This heater has a lot of built-in safety features, but common sense and caution must be used with this heater.

This product is amazing. It’s also very quiet. I was using electric heaters that blow hot air and dry out my skin and make a tremendous amount of noise. This slowly quietly heats up a room but be careful because it really works well so you wanna keep it at a temperature you can be comfortable with Best product I’ve bought for heating large rooms. I’m gonna use one of these in the winter in my four season room which stays pretty cold, but my plants grow great with this heater.
