e.l.f. Glossy Lip Stain

This product surpassed my expectations for the cost. The color is beautiful and moisturizing
.. It initially appears orange on application but as it blends with your pigment it tones down. I love peachy orange colors goes great with my brown skin tone.. I’m purchasing more.. Oh and yes it is a true stain last for a few hours .. The photo is after 3 hrs including drinking with a straw… Second color is berry

I tried 3 of these and 2 were hits while 1 went in the trash! They go on buttery-smooth, not sticky or tacky like a gloss at all. I wouldn’t necessarily call them a gloss; more like a satin sheen. As they wear off, they start to feel and look more like a tinted balm. And after that, they leave just a little stain behind. Reapplication is easy. And I love that there’s zero detectable smell or taste. The texture and wear of these remind me a lot of Peripera’s “Ink Mood Glowy Tints” and you can tell they were going for some Korean inspo. The packaging is a bit deceiving, because the actual tubes are tiny. I tried 3 shades: • Mauve: A bright berry-toned pink. Don’t usually go for that color but I do surprisingly like it. This one leaves behind the most detectable stain for me out of the 3 I tried. However, the stain does seem to stick the most along a line at my inner and outer lips, rather than the middle, so after it starts to wear down it ends up looking like I just have lip liner on, which is odd. 3/5 for the way it wears. • Pinkies up: A perfect “my lips but better” color for me. I disagree with other reviewers saying this is “beige.” I would say the photos show it as a baby pink whereas it’s more of a rosy pink IRL – but it’s definitely pink. Because it’s quite close to my natural lip color I didn’t find that this one left behind much of a detectable stain after wearing off. 4/5 because I love the color but it doesn’t stain much. • Cinnamon dreamz: I was most excited about this one because I love a brown lip, but this one went in the trash. It just did not mesh well with my naturally pink lip color, and created a weird blend of sheer brown with my pink lip color showing through. It also settled obviously into the creases of my lips.

Big fan in general of lip stains, but even if they don’t dry out your lips, they aren’t exactly moisturizing, and if you put a balm or gloss on top, then the stain wears off quickly. This ELF glossy stain is a pretty good solution, but it isn’t perfect.

Yes, it is long lasting even though it transfers. When first put on, it is glossy. No matter how long you give it for dry down though, all that gloss will come off on your cup or napkin.. If you keep drinking in that same place on your cup, you can end up with “joker mouth” and it is a stain on your skin 😬

However, once all the gloss is gone, your lips are still stained evenly. They just aren’t glossy. I bought Power Mauves and find the left over stain seems a bit brighter than it looked when it went on, but I still like the color.

I have darker lips. Often people ask me if I’m a smoker, which I’m not, i just naturallyhave darker lips. This elf lip tint is perfect to add a little natural color and hydration to my lips without being overwhelming. There’s not a lot of pictures on how it looks on darker tones so I shared mine. I wanted to love this so bad but it just feathered so bad all around my lips and made it look like I smeared this all around my lips even though I only applied it to the middle of my lips. Also the staining power is not as strong as I would prefer from a lipstain.
I really liked the color though and it is more moisturizing than most lip stains that I’ve tried.

Nice but it didn’t last at all for me. Tried it twice and came off after sipping some water and after brushing my teeth. Wish it would’ve worked for me.
