These cymbals sound great and have an excellent sound but are sooooo quiet with short sustain. They’ve transformed our practices. I can mute the drums effectively but not the cymbals. Now I can play the drums with mutes and rod blaster type sticks and hit the cymbals with balanced energy.
I like these so much, I bought a 2nd set for my e-drums so I can have real cymbal sounds and control properly balanced with my drum amp. Love these.

The cymbals are truly amazing for the price. They are well built and look really nice. Best of all they play like real cymbals and sound as close as I could expect, but with minimal volume. This will make my rehearsal space so much more enjoyable.

I’ve extensively explored low-volume cymbals on Amazon, ranging from the most affordable options to some of the pricier ones. Here’s my personal ranking:

Zildjian – At 80% quieter, these are a top-tier choice, however, they are fragile.
Meinl Practice – 85% quieter. However, I was disappointed that my 18″ crash didn’t last as long as I hoped, but they do seem more durable than Zildjian’s. Also, they are more dull in sound.
Resanito – These are 70% quieter with a notably bright sound than Zildjian. Their hi-hats, however, leave something to be desired.
Eastrock (this review) – 65% quieter. They don’t have the brightness of Resanito but offer a pleasant darker low-volume sound.

Now, for Arborea, Mosico, CYMBALS Store – and any other Stainless Steel cymbals: I’d advise against buying them. Their sound quality resembles hitting an cheap pot – quite unappealing.

I’ve rated these eastrock cymbals with a 4 stars primarily because of the underwhelming hi-hat sounds, a concern I also had with Resanito. The only low-volume hi-hats that met my expectations were from Zildjian and Meinl.

In conclusion, I’m on the lookout for a high-quality alternative to Zildjian and Meinl that doesn’t break the bank. If anyone has suggestions, I’m all ears!

My son is 4 and he’s been drumming for about 4 months. When we decided to buy him a junior drum kit, we knew the cymbals weren’t the greatest. These are a solid replacement/upgrade. They’re loud but not ear piercingly loud. They were easy to install. Would highly recommend. They look pretty cool, too.

For reference I got the golden set.

Don’t let the price fool you. Yes these sound that good. 63.99 at the time of writing and found these fantastic for studio, Jazz and Blues use. My kids bang on them for rock and that is fine too. We usually use a complete set of Zildjians ZBTs (I know, I know, not much of an upgrade, but please understand we play at home), and though they sound great, they are not for small spaces.

These are obviously for quiet use, but can easily be used for small venues, recording, and home. In fact even though these are for quiet use, that doesn’t mean they are totally quiet. I don’t know about using them in a classic NYC apartment, where you can hear the neighbor’s alarm clock or electric toothbrush through the walls (yes I lived there, long live Chelsea!). If your planning on a big venue then just mic them, in a pinch.

Comes with a really nice thick bag that comes with a removable split liner to protect each cymbal. Comes with a complete set of cymbal felts, and just with those two (bag and felt) it is worth the asking price. In fact you throw in the cymbals and now that is a smokin’ deal. The cymbals includes 14″ Hi-hats (both top and bottom), 16″ crash, 18′ crash, 20″ ride.

Each cymbal is smooth edge to edge, meaning the center holes and the outer diameter. Each small hole is good with no blemishes, or protruding flanges or sharp edges from visual inspection. All of the cymbals are free from manufacturing defects.

    Set includes:
    – Bag with removable liner.
    – 12 piece felt set.
    – 14″ Hi-hats (both top and bottom)
    – 16″ crash
    – 18′ crash
    – 20″ ride

Only thing missing in this set is a bell, a 10″, and a trash cymbal, but that would bring the price point up, and being that the latter 3 are smaller, it would be much louder. I don’t even think a quiet bell, or trash cymbal really exist.

Comes well packed in a thick cardboard shipping box. Nothing damaged and all the cymbals are nicely finished and labeled. Each cymbal comes in it’s own clear plastic bag, and then inserted into the carrying bag.

I have Sabian HHX Evolution and Zildjian Custom A’s so I know my cymbals. I wanted a low volume not a quiet set of cymbals. These are perfect. I finally used them on a gig in a small club, again perfect. The hi hats are a great dark sound, the crashes are nice, the ride is the only suspect in the bunch. But for the price this is a crazy deal. I agonized over which low volume set to buy, now you don’t have to, buy them. For practice at home perfect and for low volume or small clubs these will work. I tried them and it is proven.

These low volume cymbals from Eastrock sound excellent and allow me to practice without driving everyone else out of the house. I chose these over other low cost options because I had good luck with a set of drum bags from Eastrock and like their cost/quality. I was not disappointed. It is hard to justify the cost of the major brands when compared with these. I would even consider using them at low volume venues or stacking them with other cymbals for a hybrid setup. I can’t wait to test the various possibilities. They also come with an excellent cymbal bag that has internal dividers! No reason not to buy at this price. Coupled with Evans db ONE drum heads, this is a winning combination for quiet practice at home while maintaining the feel of regular acoustic drums and cymbals.
