Excellent product and perfect to the new transfer switch .

This is especially important in the older neighborhoods where the power line are above ground and there are a host of other external things that can ceeate power surges. Super easy to install, took me all of 20-30 minutes to install and mount… great piece of mind.

I am not a certified electrician. The following information is for review purposes and suggestions only. Contact your local professional for exact information regarding your city or county requirements. Study the installation manual before attempting to work on high voltage equipment. Turn off all power to breaker box and check electrical status with voltage sensing equipment before installation.
This Surge protector was easy to install. However, this fact is a little hard to find in their manual. You will need to install a 2 pole 15amp breaker to hook it to. This is type of breaker is generally regarded as a 240 volt breaker as it will have two switches on it. This is important because the surge protector must protect both sides of the main breaker box, only a 240 volt breaker will do that. There are four wires coming off this surge protector. Connect green one to the ground bar, white one to the common bar and the other two are connected separately, one to each side of the 240 volt breaker. Also, it is important that the 240 volt breaker be installed as the first breaker in the box, in other words, closest to the large wires coming into the box. Why? Because you want the electrical surge to come through the main wires and hit the surge protector first. You may need to move a beaker or two in the box to make this happen. Before purchasing, make sure there is enough room in the breaker box to accommodate another 240volt breaker.
If this unit is installed in a secondary/sub panel, a ground wire from the panel should be attached from the ground bar to a copper stake that has been driven into the ground. This is proper procedure for all sub panels.
There are some good videos of this product being installed on YouTube. While you’re there, check out proper sub panel ground wiring.
I hope this helps you.

Needs an open 15 amp double breaker to install. I mounted mine externally so I could see the bright green status LEDs. So far working well through 2 thunderstorms.

Provides whole house surge protection, but remember you do need a double pole 15 amp breaker to go with this for the install.

El instructivo de instalación facilita el montaje del surge protector. Ya pasó una tormenta eléctrica por el área y sin ningún problema.

Opened this device to see what it was comprised of, and am pleasantly surprised with the build quality. It appears to be a scaled down version of the Eaton Ultimate Whole House Surge Protector. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AQAKRSS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The circuit board appears to be a depopulated version of the Ultimate’s.
The primary mechanism to protect your home from power surges are 2 metal oxide varistors (MOVs) per leg, 4 MOVs in total.
The MOVs are Sincera T25D241K. The best info I can find, state that they are rated for 150V, meaning that any voltages over 150V are shunted to ground/neutral, protecting everything on both legs of your panel. Their maximum clamping voltage is 400V. (I am not an electrical design engineer, but this is my understanding of these values having done some amateur electronics projects)
As I understand surge suppression, while this will not protect from direct lightening strikes, it will protect you from spikes as appliances turn on/off and some amount of transient voltages that are induced into wiring from NEARBY lightning strikes. There is not much any homeowner can do to protect from a direct lightning other than having lightning rods with great grounding.
The housing is very sturdy plastic and is outdoor rated. The circuit board is silicone dipped to protect it from moisture and the housing has rubber gaskets on the screws holding the halves together. If installing outside I would install it under a circuit box to provide some protection from direct rain.

Easy install in panel, medium 35k protection. Drawback is wires are about 20 inches, and you should not add or splice wires. Good price for the product.

I live in an area where blackouts are the rule of the day. For many years before I installed my Eaton CHSPT2SURGE SPD I had replaced, TVs, SPLIT Units and refrigerators electronic control units due to electrical spikes after blackouts. It performs as advertised protecting my electronics til this day.
The installation was simple as the length of the cords allow me to install at a convenient location. Size and appearance is perfect as the LED will provide the SPD status.
LEMANU –
Unit is compact and installs easily with an electrician if you are not super sure as to how to do it. Requires a double pole breaker or 2 breakers in the first to power in position so you need spare breaker spots. Hope this will stop dishwasher circuit board damage during surges after power outages we will see..

I might have the worst luck ever. I have had lighting strike my house in 2 different states. The first time I was not protected and it fried my computer and tvs. I have installed this item in every place since. The second time the only thing it fried was this. So to say the least this thing is worth it’s weight in gold. Absolutely a must have.

Have a 220 amp panel on a finished wall so mounted it inside the panel as suggested by most of the You Tube videos, not the devices’s own instructions. By putting it inside the panel you can’t see the lights which show it is working. I was able to remove a pair of breaker covers and replace them with a breaker panel filler plate which is easy to remove to check the surge protector. The CHSPT2SURGE model which I used takes a 15 amp double pole beaker. Very pleased with an easy protection for my electronics.

Saw this used on the show Holmes on Homes. I trust Mike Holmes recommendations even though it is made in China. It has his approval on the box
