EDUP AC600M Dual Band USB WiFi Adapter

Around here, everybody is using the 2.4Ghz frequency for their Wifi, with many clowns misconfiguring their router to stomp on other channels and causes mad crosstalk, causing network instability and slowdown. I bought this dual band Wifi adapter and connected to my 5Ghz wifi and what a dramatic increase in not only speed but reliability. And the external antenna provided gives me a nice strong signal. A good price for a simple solution. Now, the screenshot shows somewhat lackluster speeds. But when you consider the vast number of boneheads that reside in this building that allow “professional installation” of their Wifi totally misconfigured by these cable “experts” and it and ends up screwing up everyone elses speeds, these speeds I get are actually quite impressive. I have three other Wifi adapters I tested, along with this one, and this one is the best.

Now for the improvement. Maybe in the future, allow, via software command, to dim the flashing wifi indicator light on the adapter. For now, I use tape to mask the bright flashing light at night. A small suggestion, but would make for a good one.

On my Windows 10 computer, the device was recognized, and drivers installed automatically. Just throw away the stupid little disc that comes with it. Insanely fast.

I had some old Window 7 computers laying around that I wanted to put to good use. I first upgraded them to window 10 or Linux Mint. But they didn’t have Wifi and I didn’t want to run cables all over my place.

I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on these. So I bought 2 of these “EDUP AC600M USB WiFi Adapters for PC”. It was very easy to use and worked Plug & Play on Windows 10. On Linux Mint I had to watch some Youtube videos on how to getting it working. As Wifi USB does seem to have some issue on Linux as there were quite a videos on how to get it up and running but it’s been working just fine since I followed the video’s advice.

I did use a Ethernet Cable on both machines until I got the Wifi up & running for update & drivers.

The have been working 24/7 for over month with no problems.

Produto bem simples e pequeno, conectável ao USB, comprei ele visando ao uso em um gamestick, pois precisava de uma rede, junto ao hub USB fiz instalação dele sem necessidade alguma de instalação de drivers. A conexão foi rápida e fácil, o local que utilizei tem distancia de dois cômodos e o sinal ficou perfeito e sem perda, valeu muito apena investimento.

After I have requested a return, my wife inserted this wonderful device into the laptop the wifi connection started working immediately. The reason for my return request in the first place was that i had to download the device driver into my phone first, that’s compressed in a zip folder, and then transfer it to my laptop to unzip it first, and then set it up. It didn’t work. Strangely, the error message came up saying, this device doesn’t work with your system. I don’t even believe the driver download would have been necessary. As soon as you insert this antenna into your computer, it starts flashing blue lights of wifi signal. When you click your computer’s internet access icon, this device will show a list of networks including yours. All you have to do is click your router name, put the password in and you have your internet connection back.
