Supports all the fun stuff and plugged and played nicely. working with my cisco switch with LACP.
I would recommend for Linux!!

I purchased to put into a Proxmox server. No issues with immediate detection as Intel. I later moved this to an OPNSense bare metal install. Card has been running solid for months.

I recently ran into a situation where decade-old Intels built into a motherboard could have played better with the BSD 13 kernel but the kernel said no. As I have had good luck with Broadcom products in the past I went for this. Works with zero hiccups now.

Installed into my home server and found that only one out of the four NICs will show up. I’ve been told to try to update the firmware on the card but any firmware update I’ve tried has failed to install. Willing to change my rating if the issue is resolved but very disappointed

I ordered this card for a pfSense/opnSense build. It offers several ports for a single PCIe lane. The form factor also seemed decently small for what you’re getting.
The card was packaged well, about on par with just about every other NIC I’ve ordered here on Amazon. The card itself was in an antistatic bag. Included in the box were instructions and a disc with the drivers. You can also download drivers from Broadcom’s website (which is my preferred approach).
I like that a short bracket was included. I have other machines that use the short bracket type. The inclusion of the short bracket seems standard for NICs here on Amazon.
The build quality is good. The heatsink is much larger than the chip it’s collecting heat from. It’s mounted to the board with spring-loaded standoffs. The heatsink can be rocked back and forth on top of the chipset. Regardless it seems like the heatsink and thermal pad are making good contact with the chipset, so I don’t expect this will have a negative effect on performance. See the images for the gap between the heatsink and PCB.
This card has dedicated status LEDs for both the power state of the card and an established link. The LEDs are part of the RJ-45 port, which is my preference. Others have the LEDs surface-mounted on the PCB, which causes lots of light to bleed in the case.
I connected this card to a test bench machine, installed the appropriate drivers, and connected it to another 1 Gbps interface using CAT6 cables. This was a machine-to-machine connection without an intermediate router or switch to skew results. The card performed fine, operating at approximately 1 Gbps on each port. This speed is on par with other 1Gb cards I’ve used.
To test link integrity I ran another throughput test using iperf3 that lasted an hour. I did not see any dropouts in the link. The card was definitely warm at the end of the test, but that’s what the heatsink is for. If you’re putting this in a gaming PC you should look into mounting a fan on the heatsink. The test was performed from Fedora Workstation 36. I will update this review with the results of the pfSense build when it’s done.
At the time of writing this review, the price of this card was $58.64 including a 15% coupon. I think that price is standard compared to other options on the market. This card seems like a less expensive alternative to an identical offering from ULANSeN (ASIN B0BDRVFL2R).

Works perfectly for the application it as purchased for (FreeBSD), installed plug-n-play no need to tussle with drivers.

I’ve been using the gigabit quad port ethernet server adapter for a couple of days now and I’m very pleased with it. The build quality is excellent, the installation and setup was easy, the connection speeds are great, and the quad port capabilities are a huge bonus.
The adapter seems to be made of high-quality materials and feels very sturdy. It’s also very compact, so it doesn’t take up much space in my system. Installation was a breeze. I simply plugged the adapter into an open PCIe slot on my motherboard, installed the drivers, and I was up and running in minutes.
The connection speeds are very fast. I’m able to transfer files at speeds of up to the full 1000Mbps, which is faster than my previous adapter. I’ve also been able to stream 4K video without any buffering or lag.
The quad port capabilities are what really make this adapter shine. With four ports, I can easily connect to multiple network or connect virtual machines to my main network. This is a huge convenience, and it saves me the hassle of having to share connections with my VMs or configure connection settings all the time.
The adapter is also compatible with a wide range of operating systems. I’ve tested it on Windows 11, VMWare, and Linux, and it works great with all of them.
Overall, I’m very happy with the gigabit quad port ethernet server adapter. It’s a great value for the price and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, reliable adapter with quad port capabilities.
Here are some of the pros and cons of the adapter:
Pros:
Excellent build quality
Easy installation and setup
Fast connection speeds
Quad port capabilities
Wide compatibility with operating systems
Cons:
None that I’ve found so far
Overall, I highly recommend the gigabit quad port ethernet server adapter. It’s a great value for the price and I’ve been very happy with it so far.
