I selected this masher for a better fit it the utensil drawer, of course. It is easy to fold for that purpose, but not so easy that it doesn’t stay in place while in use. In addition to that feature, and unexpected, and that when open, the flat round masher part is at a slight angle, making it easier to use than having to mash in a straight up and down motion. The hold if more natural like the rest of our utensils at home.

This was my first time to try a nylon potato masher. I loved that it actually worked, and it did not sound as harsh on the ears (like metal on metal does) and that it handled the job easily. One thing I didn’t like, is if you get aggressive enough with it, the masher end actually comes off, lost in the bottom of your hot partially mashed potatoes to be fished out. Aside from that happening a few times, the tool is great. It does the job. It rinses and washes really well, if you do it right after use before the food hardens, it slides right off. Way faster cleanup than my metal mashers. When you are ready to store it, it folds to save space in a drawer or to hang somewhat flat.

It efficiently mashes soft foods like potatoes, or eggs (for egg salad) providing consistent results. The lightweight construction makes it easy to handle. Additionally, it is easy to clean and maintains its durability with regular use. The price is just great as well.

I originally got this to mash avocados for guacamole because my potato masher’s holes are too big for guacamole. It kind of works, but if you’re not careful, it will fold on you which can get frustrating. Other than that, I do love that it does fold for easy storage. I just wish there was some sort of mechanism in place that make it a little more difficult to fold so it didn’t happen while mashing.

I am not one to make potatoes frequently but when I do, I want them mashed well. I decided to try this product because my metal masher is a real pain to fit inside my kitchen drawers.
The product is made completely of food grade nylon, is lightweight and folds down so it will slide easily into the utensil drawer. It is heat resistant, will not scratch my cookware and is dishwasher safe. All these are great features.
I found that it is not quite as sturdy as my metal masher but if I boil the potatoes just a bit more, it works fine. Especially at the current price of $7, I am pleased with this purchase.

I was very excited about this potato masher due to the fact that it folds flat and can be stored easily in a drawer or hung from the hole in the handle without taking up as much room as a traditional masher. I have also switched to non stick cookware and a metal masher just ruins the finish in the pot if you’d like to mash your potatoes in the pot you boil them in. This nylon no stick masher is perfect to use with my non stick cookware. I agree with other reviewers the only negative could be the masher folding down while you’re mashing your product. If you’re conscious of which direction you are tilting the masher and tilt away from the side that folds you can avoid that problem with a little bit of effort.

Previously used a metal potato masher, so excited to try out this nylon masher. When mashing food I noticed that the mechanism can revert back. Which kind of sucks so I wish I was like some sort of mechanism to lock it in place while using. It has a nice space saving aspect though!

I have used this about 10 times so far and its up to the job. I like the part that it folds so you can store in in any size drawer. When it locks, it has a nice click and it holds well. I have not tried it in a dishwasher yet.
